摘要： A closure having a device for lifting a liner from a container opening. The lifting device being a finger projecting from a hinge connection within the closure. The hinge connection is positioned from a depending skirt of the closure. The hinged finger disengages the liner from a sealing engagement with the container while engaging along substantially the same annulus spaced from the liner edge. A plurality of the hinged fingers may be used for the lifting device. The closure may be used in various retort and aseptic applications, as well as provide for tamper indication.

摘要： The present development is for a closure which provides a liner for abutting a surface and maintaining an effective pressure against a peelable seal affixed to a container lip as the sealed container is exposed to relatively high temperature and pressure conditions. The liner which abuts a surface of the seal sandwiches the seal between the liner and the container lip. The liner defines a resting thickness at ambient temperature and pressure conditions and is made from a material capable of being compressed to a thickness less than the resting thickness and of recovering to a recovery thickness sufficient to allow the liner to maintain a positive pressure against the seal upon exposure to elevated temperatures, elevated pressure, or a combination of elevated temperature and elevated pressure.

摘要： A plastic safety closure with a tamper-indicating band is described. The closure includes a tamper-indicating band depending from the skirt of the closure. The tamper indicating band includes a frangible portion with one or more openings therein. The openings may form an interrupted slot or a continuous slot. Each opening includes a lip projecting outwardly therefrom and another lip projecting inwardly therefrom. These lips provide greater contacting area at the inner surface of the opening, thereby facilitating the alignment of the lower portion of the tamper-indicating band as it is forced into position on a container fitment.

摘要： A two stage dispensing cap for a carbonated beverage container is described. The cap has a flip top which is hingedly connected to a collar wherein the collar is rotatable on the container. The cap, upon rotation of the collar, is first opened into a venting position wherein the flip top vents the pressurized contents of the container but remains locked partially closed. Continued rotation of the cap releases the locked flop top to allow the container to be fully opened. A set of cams on the container neck work in conjunction with annular beads to first allow partially opening of the flip top into the venting position and then allowing it to fully open.

摘要： A child resistant cap including relatively thin threads which, when the cap is in a relaxed condition, are spaced from the bottle neck, said spacing permitting the cap to be squeezed inward at points on opposite sides of the cap so that the cap responds to the squeezing by expanding outward at points ninety degrees from the squeezing points so that stops on the cap at the cap expanding location will miss the stops normally engaged when in a relaxed condition, thereby permitting the cap to be removed from the bottle. The cap may also include a guide ring in the cap interior to guide the cap over the bottle neck to help ensure that the cap is centered on the bottle opening. The cap may include pressure pads on the cap skirt outside near the cap bottom showing the user where to press and stiffening the portion of the cap where pressure is to be applied. And, the cap may include a tamper indicating ring which will separate from the cap the first time the cap is removed from the bottle. Furthermore, in an alternative cap and bottle combination, an imaginary line connecting the cap threads and an imaginary line defined by the bottle neck will intersect at an angle of from one to eight degrees, thereby providing an increasing gap between the cap threads and the bottle neck as one gets further from the cap top, this angle creating non-vertical changes to the cap or the bottle or both.

摘要： A two piece safety or child resistant dispensing closure for granular or pellet material. The opening of the dispensing window can be varied to control the rate of dispensing. One piece of the closure is a cap which is attached to the container by threads or a snap-on flange. The cap has a pair of opposed circumferential windows in its top. The second piece of the closure is a flat cover with corresponding circumferential dispensing windows. The cover is attached to the cap for rotation between an aligned window dispensing position and a closed, nonaligned window position. A pair of opposed rocker arms which may be depressed by the thumb and forefinger of the user is used to release the cover from its closed position and rotate it to a dispensing position. Detents on the cap coact with the rocker arms on the cover to secure the cover and cap with any desired degree of alignment between the windows on the cap and cover to achieve metered dispensing.
