    摘要: A quick-change chuck device has a body member having an internal recess defined therein. An inner sleeve member is fitted into this recess and is axially movable relative to the body member. The inner sleeve has an internal bore defined therethrough which is concentric with the recess. An axial spring mechanism biases the inner sleeve member axially away from the body member. An axial movement locking device is configured with the inner sleeve member to allow a tool shank to slide into the internal bore of the inner sleeve when the sleeve is moved axially towards the body member and to axially lock the tool shank within the internal bore when the inner sleeve member is biased by the spring mechanism away from the body member. A rotational movement locking device is configured within the recess of the body member. The rotational movement locking device defines a bore aligned with the internal bore of the inner sleeve member for receiving the tool shank passing through the inner sleeve member. The rotational movement locking device comprises a plurality of spring loaded longitudinal bearing members disposed about the bore and extending radially into the bore. In this manner, the bearing members contact the tool shank. The bearing members are spring loaded tangentially inward so as to rotationally lock the tool shank against rotation in at least one rotational direction.

    摘要: A quick release chuck device for releasably holding a jaw blade includes a body member having an internal longitudinal bore defined therein. The longitudinal bore has a substantially rectangular cross-section shape for receipt of conventionally sized saw blades. At least one radial bore is defined in the body member and is in communication with the longitudinal bore through one of its short sides. An engaging device is disposed in the radial bore and is movable radially within the radially bore so that at least a portion of the engaging device extends into the longitudinal bore in a locking mode of the chuck device to hold a saw blade within the device through contact with a recess defined in the edge of the blade. A spring-biased outer sleeve is disposed about at least a portion of the body member. The outer sleeve is movable longitudinally between a released position and a locking position. The outer sleeve member includes an engaging surface having a portion which contacts the engaging member and forces the engaging member radially inward to engage a saw blade inserted into the longitudinal bore in the locking position of the sleeve member. The device is unlocked by an operator grasping the outer sleeve surface and moving the outer sleeve to its released position thereby allowing the engaging member to move radially outward to release the saw blade.

    摘要: A chuck for use with a manual or powered driver having a rotatable drive shaft includes a body and a primary gripping mechanism utilizing a three-jaw assembly actuated by a nut driven by a sleeve. The chuck includes a supplemental tightening mechanism. The supplemental tightening mechanism includes at least one L-shaped lever having a portion disposed between the nut and nose section of the body of the chuck. The nut can include a passage through which the lever passes. The lever bar will push off a hardened washer disposed against the body and thus force the nut forward to produce an enhanced gripping force on the tool through the jaws. The supplemental tightening mechanism can further include a detent to restrain relative rotation between the nut and the sleeve. The detent can include a groove formed in the nut and a resilient retaining clip held by the sleeve to selectively engage the groove.

    摘要: A sealing collet is provided having a plurality of independent gripping jaws longitudinally disposed about a common centerline axis. The gripping jaws have exposed inner and outer faces. A resilient material is disposed between the gripping jaws and holds the jaws in a predetermined longitudinally and angularly spaced relation about the centerline axis of a collet. A continuous outer diameter seal is disposed circumferentially about the conical outer surface of the collet. The outer diameter seal is formed integral with the resilient material. A continuous inner diameter seal is also provided disposed circumferentially within the inner diameter of the collet and also formed integral with the resilient material. At least one coolant fluid channel may be defined in the resilient material in fluid communication with a coolant port defined through the face of the collet for introducing cooling fluid onto the working surfaces of a tool held by the collet.
