Abstract:
In order to reduce the concentration of CO in the waste gas of coke oven batteries that are heated by lean gas, additional sealing is used for the brick-work of die regenerator separating walls of the coke oven battery, as well as a coke oven battery with a regenerator having brick-built separating walls, between ducts that carry lean gas and waste gas, in which one has arranged stainless steel sheets in front of the regenerator separating wall with, preferably, an intermediate layer that is located behind it that comprises ceramic fibers. In this regard, the stainless steel sheets, that overlap with one another in each case, are preferably held by rod-shaped tensioning device.
Abstract:
Renovation of a heating wall, in particular a heating wall of a coke oven battery, includes starting with a vertical wall raising of a part to be renovated on a wall protective plate of the part, abutting a new masonry exactly on the wall protection plate, and arranging between the new masonry and the old masonry a vertically extending welding joint from a ceramic material.
Abstract:
The method of reducing a nitrogen oxides content of a flue gas generated on firing of a rich gas or combination coke oven having a plurality of heating walls forming dual heating flues, in which a single stage or multistage combustion takes place, and also having a plurality of regenerators for recovery of flue gas heat and preheating of an underfiring medium, includes the steps of mixing one portion of the flue gas drawn from one flue of the dual heating flues with the underfiring medium, gas and/or air, prior to or on admission to the other flue of the dual heating flues, or a regenerator connected with it, and circulating another portion of the flue gas additionally inside the dual heating flues. The method advantageously also may include recirculating externally at a predetermined flow rate the one portion of the flue gas considering the recirculating of the other portion of the flue gas inside the dual heating flues and controlling the recirculating so that a flame temperature in the heating flues is kept constant based on a heat balance in the heating flues, and feeding, during rich gas firing of the combination coke oven, the one portion of the flue gas recirculated externally only to those of the regenerators, which receive the underfiring media during lean gas operation, and, during rich gas operation, only to every second one of the regenerators.
Abstract:
A dispensing apparatus for fluid media is disclosed which comprises a dosing piston movably guided within a dosing cylinder and a subsequent rotary valve, wherein the cleaning and/or sterilization of the parts coming into contact with the filling product can be performed without removing these parts. By means of a particular disposition and embodiment of the dosing piston, the rotary valve and the dosing cylinder, it is possible to make the dosing piston and rotary valve accessible rapidly and simply.
Abstract:
A relay (10), in particular for a starter for an internal combustion engine, is proposed. The relay (10) includes a relay coil (13) and a solenoid armature (22) which can be moved when full battery current flows to the relay coil (13). A contact member (37) can be actuated by the solenoid armature (22), whereby an operating lever (31) is situated on the contact member (37). It is provided that a coupling element (46) connects the operating lever (31) and the solenoid armature (22) with each other in a manner that allows them to slide with limits.
Abstract:
To reduce the risk of breakage and yet ensure good electric and thermal conductivity, pull-off strength and long service life of the connection, when connecting a contact element to a conductor (1) by crimping, the inner surface of the crimp section (6), in contact with the conductor (1), is provided with deformations that are grooves (2) and ribs running crosswise and obliquely to the longitudinal axis of the conductor (1).
Abstract:
In a method for the removal of alkali halides by washing them out of reaction products prepared, in the presence of ketones which form a miscibility gap with water, by a reaction of xylylene dichlorides and/or bromides with bisphenols in the presence of alkaline compounds or in the form of alkali salts, at 85.degree. to 160.degree. C., with the addition in some cases of terminal-group-closing monophenols or monohalogen alkyl compounds, water or a water-ketone mixture solvent is added to the reaction mixture before beginning the filtration, and afterward is recycled. For the complete recovery of the ketones and alkali halides and the reuse of the ketones with reduced energy consumption a kentonous phase and an aqueous phase are recovered by separate evaporation after the separation of the filtrate in two liquid phases, both of the condensates are combined to a ketone-water mixture, the filter cake is stirred up again in the ketone-water mixture and filtered a second time.
Abstract:
A conveyor apparatus for handling small capsules, ampules, etc. and for transferring them from a continuous stream to a cyclically moving conveyor rack. Segmented pivoting arms hold the capsules in peripheral recesses. The arms are guided in a cam track whereby their pivotal motion takes place at varying speeds which can be adapted to the requirements of the transfer process and of the subsequent machine members.
Abstract:
In order to assure a high arc current and a high arc power with simultaneous reduction of flicker voltages, at least two juxtaposed electrodes, each having the same distance from the vertical axis of the furnace and the same electrical potential, are connected to each phase of an electric arc furnace, which is preferably a three-phase electric arc furnace. Preferably circular electrodes are employed which are conductively connected together at least in the vicinity of the electric arc.
Abstract:
A method is provided for processing dusts and muds from dust removing systems in the iron and steel industry by pelletizing them for further processing. Green pellets are formed by pelletizing the dusts and/or muds with a moisture content of between 10% and 16% for less than 6 minutes with an addition of water such that the moisture content of the green pellets is between 17% and 30%. The green pellets, together with a reducing agent, are then introduced into a rotary furnace.
