The direct conversion transmitter includes a digital modulation unit, a D/A conversion unit, a DC correction and low pass filter unit, a local oscillator, a poly phase signal generation unit, a 2N-order sub-harmonic I/Q frequency modulation unit, a power amplification unit, and an antenna. The digital modulation unit digitally modulates a base-band signal and then outputs I and Q component signals. The D/A conversion unit converts the I and Q component signals into analog I and Q component signals. The DC correction and low pass filter unit adjusts DC interfaces of the analog I and Q component signals, passes low frequency components of the analog I and Q component signals and generates I and Q components of a base-band signal. The local oscillator generates a sine wave signal with a frequency of FTX/2N. The poly phase signal generation unit generates a poly phase signal with 2N+1 phases. The frequency modulation unit mixes the I and Q components with the poly phase signal with 2N+1 phases to generate an output signal with a frequency of FTX. The power amplification unit amplifies the output of the frequency modulation unit to a required level. The antenna radiates the output signal of the power amplification unit.

An apparatus for eliminating an interference signal includes a first mixer, a filter unit, a second mixer, and an operation unit. The first mixer downconverts a received signal containing an outband interference signal. The second mixer upconverts the downconverted outband interference signal to restore the outband interference signal to the original frequency band. A transmitter and a transmitting method of a wireless communication system are provided. The transmitter transmits RF signals using an outphasing scheme of converting one analog IF NC-EMS into two analog C-EMSs. In the transmitter, a baseband processor generates a baseband digital modulated I-signal and a baseband digital modulated Q-signal. An IF processor up-converts the baseband digital modulated I-signal and the baseband digital modulated Q-signal to generate one digital IF NC-EMS. A signal component separator separates the digital IF NC-EMS into a first digital IF C-EMS and a second digital IF C-EMS. An RF processor up-converts the first digital IF C-EMS and the second digital IF C-EMS to generate a first analog RF C-EMS and a second analog RF C-EMS. A power amplifier amplifies powers of the first and second analog RF C-EMSs. An RF combiner combines the first and second analog RF C-EMSs having the amplified powers to generate one combined analog RF C-EMS.

Single sideband (SSB) mixers and methods of extracting a SSB signal, which are capable of outputting a single frequency using a plurality of mixers and a local oscillating frequency without having to implement phase-shifting. In one embodiment, a single sideband (SSB) mixer comprises a first mixer and a second mixer, wherein the first and second mixers multiply an input IF (intermediate frequency) signal by a local IF signal having the same frequency of the input IF signal; a band-pass filter which passes upper sideband signal output from the first mixer; a third mixer which multiplies the upper sideband signals output from the band-pass filter by a LO (local oscillating) signal; a fourth mixer which multiplies the signals output from the second mixer by the LO signal; and a subtraction device that subtracts output signals of the third mixer from output signals of the fourth mixer. Accordingly, a quadrature local oscillator which displaces a phase of a local oscillating signal by 90° at a high frequency is not required. Also, since the SSB mixer applies the same local oscillating frequency signal to each mixer, the rejection characteristics against undesired signals can be achieved to a level of about 70 dB, experimentally.
