    摘要: An adhesive composition applicator includes a housing having sidewalls and a neck that tapers to an opening. The housing encloses a gelled adhesive composition. The housing has a cross-sectional area and the opening has a cross-sectional area less than that of the housing cross-sectional area. A cap is provided that engages the housing. A mechanism is provided for urging the gelled composition material from the housing through the opening. The neck optionally also includes a shield to prevent gelled adhesive composition from running down the neck and provides a barrier against gelled adhesive smear reaching the point of intersection between the cap and the housing. To facilitate application of gelled composition to a point of application, a spatula is provided adjacent to the opening.

    摘要: A silicone composition that is oil resistant when cured is described. More particularly, this composition includes a silanol terminated silicone fluid, an organic plasticizer, a filler and a crosslinker, wherein the cured composition remains adhesive after exposure to oil. The present compositions provide superior adhesive properties after exposure to oil than conventional RTV silicone adhesives having M-stopped silicone plasticizers. Methods of making and using cured elastomeric products made from the present compositions are also provided.

The corrosion-inhibiting compositions are cost efficient, easy to use and can be conveniently removed or replaced. The corrosion-inhibiting compositions include a putty-like base material that is pliable and has sufficient tackiness to be securely affixed to surfaces. Corrosion inhibiting compounds are combined with the base material. These compositions provide a vapor phase corrosion inhibitor for both direct and indirect contact with metallic objects.

    摘要: A curable silicone composition is provided that includes a carboxylic acid scavenging reactant with an amount sufficient to reduce an odor associated with silicone curing. The carboxylic acid scavenging reactant illustratively includes a carbodiimide in the form of a monocarbodiimide or a polycarbodiimide; an aziridine; and a combination thereof. The composition optionally includes adjuvant provided to modify the physical or cure properties of the cured silicone. In particular, the composition is readily compatible with the inclusion of calcium carbonate, the use of which would otherwise cause gassing and/or curing upon storage. The composition optionally includes a condensation catalyst in the form of an organometallic compound with the metal ions of titanium, aluminum, tin, calcium, and zinc being particularly well suited for the function of catalyzing condensation reactions. A process for reducing acid emission from a RTV cured silicone is provided by adding a carbodiimide, an aziridine, or a combination thereof to a premanufactured RTV silicone composition containing acetoxy-terminated polysiloxane. The process is optionally provided with contacting a substrate to which the RTV silicone composition will be applied in intermediate layer of a carbodiimide, an aziridine, or a combination thereof.
