摘要： A method of manufacturing a polarizing plate includes fabricating a base film, dyeing the base film by using iodine, stretching the base film to form a polarizing film, firstly drying the polarizing film at a first temperature, and secondly drying the polarizing film while sequentially increasing a temperature from the first temperature to a second temperature higher than the first temperature. The polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display including the same are manufactured through the above method.

摘要： A polarization system including a first polarization film, a second polarization film, and a first retardation film disposed between the first and second polarization films. The first polarization film is disposed between a user and a light irradiator and the second polarization film is disposed between the first polarization film and the light irradiator. In addition, the first retardation film retards a phase of the light passing through the first polarization film. Thus, the polarization system allows the user to watch a 3D image without being related to the user's posture. A second retardation film may also be disposed between the first polarization film and the first retardation film.

摘要： A flat panel display device is provided with an increased viewing angle having good dark versus light imaging contrast. The display device includes a display panel, a first optical unit, and a second optical unit. The display panel includes a liquid crystal layer that is driven in a vertical alignment mode. The first optical unit includes a negative C-plate and a first polarizer having a first absorption axis. The second optical unit includes a biaxial compensation plate having a refractive indices coefficient, (nx−nz)/(nx−ny) of more than 0.45 and less than 0.55, and a second polarizer having a second absorption axis crossing the first absorption axis. The biaxial compensation plate has a refractive indices relationship of nx>nz>ny such that dispersion of polarization states of colored light rays passed through the C-plate and the liquid crystal layer may be minimized and gathered about an extinction point, thereby improving contrast at side viewing angles.

摘要： The disclosure describes a liquid crystal display panel including a plurality of sub-pixels, a plurality of thin film transistors, a plurality of data lines, and a plurality of gate lines. Each of the sub-pixels has first and second gray scale regions which are split up and down and have different areas, first and second gray scale regions of one sub-pixel having a staggered arrangement with respect to those of an adjacent sub-pixel. Thin film transistors are connected to first and second gray scale regions so that first gray scale regions are driven when one of gate lines is driven and the second gray scale regions are driven when another gate line is driven.

摘要： A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate having a first alignment layer, a second substrate having a second alignment layer, a liquid crystal layer having liquid crystal molecules operating in a twisted nematic (TN) mode, a first polarizing film, a second polarizing film, and a phase difference compensation film. The phase difference compensation film has a delay axis to compensate for an undesired phase difference imposed by the NT operating liquid crystal layer on light, traveling through the liquid crystal layer when an ideally fully untwisting electric field is applied to the liquid crystal layer, and the delay axis forms an acute angle with a rubbing direction of the second alignment layer.
