    摘要: A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine is provided which performs intake air flow control for controlling an engine speed to a target engine speed during starting of the engine, by adjusting a throttle opening depending upon the engine speed. The control apparatus judges a degree of deterioration of a combustion state in the engine, based on a difference between a predetermined reference peak engine speed and an actual peak engine speed, and switches from the intake air flow control to ignition timing control for controlling the engine speed when the engine operates in a poor combustion state, at a point of time that is determined based on the degree of deterioration of the combustion state.

    摘要: A boost pressure control system for a vehicle engine equipped with a supercharger and a torque converter having a lock-up clutch, in which the boost pressure is controlled by adjusting the degree of the opening of an air bypass valve and the ON/OFF position of the supercharger in such manner that the different control characteristics of the boost pressure are selected in accordance with whether the lock-up clutch of the torque converter is turned ON or OFF, i.e., when the lock-up clutch is turned ON, the supercharger is started at a lower engine load, and the degree of the opening of the air bypass valve is set smaller, thereby enabling the lock-up operation of the torque converter under running conditions in which a higher driving torque is required and, thereby widening the operating range of the lock-up operation of the torque converter and improving the fuel economy of the vehicle.

A bypass passage is branched from intake passage upstream of the throttle valve and is connected to the intake passage downstream of the throttle valve. A flow control valve is arranged in the bypass passage. At the time of deceleration, when the supply of fuel is cut, the flow control valve opens to increase the flow area of the bypass passage by a predetermined flow area.

    摘要: An engine includes a double barreled carburetor. A sensor mounted to the exhaust system detects the concentration of a component in the exhaust. A control unit, based on a signal from the sensor, dispatches a control signal to an air bleed control valve to vary its resistance. Primary and secondary path systems lead from the outlet of the air bleed control valve and respectively supply primary bleed air into the fuel which is being supplied into the primary barrel of the carburetor and secondary bleed air into the fuel which is being supplied into the secondary barrel of the carburetor. A one way valve is fitted in the secondary path system so as to allow air flow only towards the secondary barrel, and not away therefrom. Thus, when both barrels are opened, bleed air is sucked in to the primary barrel through the primary path system, and also bleed air is sucked in to the secondary barrel through the secondary path system past the one way valve; but, when only the primary barrel is opened, bleed air is sucked in to the primary barrel through the primary path system, but no bleed air is sucked in to the secondary barrel through the secondary path system, and the one way valve prevents reverse flow of air from the secondary barrel through the secondary path system and thencefrom into the primary path system towards the primary barrel.
