摘要: A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel and an illuminating device having a plurality of LED packages which include LED's and a lens. Each LED package includes a high refractive index member containing a substance having a larger refractive index than that of a material forming the lens and which seals the LED. The lens is shaped to have a recess near its center, and is shaped so that a moving radius increases as a polar angle increases within a range of 0 to 80 degrees. The moving radius is defined as a distance starting from the lens center and ending in the lens surface, and the polar angle is defined as an angle that is made by the moving radius to the center axis that is vertical to a plane on which said LED package is located and passing through the center of the lens.

A light source includes: a heat radiation substrate; an insulating layer formed in some regions in an upper surface of the substrate; a wiring layer having wiring patterns, the wiring layer being arranged on the insulating layer; and a plurality of LED elements connected to the wiring layer. Moreover, the light source includes: a heat radiation substrate; an insulating layer arranged in some regions in an upper surface of the substrate; a wiring layer having wiring patterns, the wiring layer being arranged on the insulating layer; and LED elements connected to the wiring layer, wherein the insulating layer has two layers of a resin layer arranged in the wiring layer side and an adhesive layer arranged in the heat radiation substrate side.

摘要: The present invention provides an illumination device capable of improving an efficiency of acquiring light emitted by light emitting diodes, which are provided in a light source module and used as a light source, and capable of achieving a uniform luminance distribution, and provides a liquid crystal display device using the illumination device. The illumination device includes a circuit board, red, green and blue light emitting diodes, and a lens body. Each red, green and blue light emitting diode is mounted on the circuit board and connected with a wiring pattern formed on the circuit board. The lens covers the red, green and blue light emitting diodes, and includes first portions each having two first side surfaces and second portions each having two second side surfaces. The first and second portions are alternately arranged. A distance between the first side surfaces is larger than a distance between the second side surfaces. The three red, green and blue light emitting diodes are provided in each first portion of the lens.

摘要: There is explored the structure of an illumination device having a board, an interconnection and a reflector plate arranged on the aforementioned board, an LED element connected to the aforementioned interconnection, and a transparent resin part sealing the aforementioned LED element; wherein the aforementioned transparent resin part has a recess in the top face and the aforementioned recess has a shape taking as the major axis some axial direction in the plane of the aforementioned board. Further, the structure of a liquid crystal display device using this illumination device is explored. With the illumination device or a liquid crystal backlight light source module, it is possible to implement a light source for implementing an area control function and having the required homogeneous brightness and chromaticity distribution.

摘要: A cold-cathode tube has hitherto been used as a backlight for supplying illumination to a liquid crystal television but recently, light emitting diode pieces have been used for a backlight of a large-size liquid crystal television. For the purpose of improving the emission efficiency, flip chip mounting of the light emitting diode piece is advantageous but the mounting yield is restricted by the piece size, electrode structure and wire pattern structure, facing situations having difficulties in realizing simplified mounting and reduction of costs of members. In a liquid crystal display apparatus having a liquid crystal panel, an optical system and a light source, the light source includes a light emitting element structure having positive and negative electrodes, at least one of them being plural, and wires mounted to the positive and negative electrodes through flip chip mounting by making electrical correspondence to individual regions of the positive and negative electrodes.

摘要: A driving force control system for vehicle for controlling a target speed of an engine serving as a prime mover by selecting a control mode based on an index representing a driving preference of a driver. The control mode is selected from a first mode for operating the engine to achieve the target speed while optimizing a fuel economy, and a second mode for operating the engine to achieve the target speed at a speed lower than that achieved while optimizing the fuel economy. The driving force control system is configured to determine a lower limit speed of the engine based on the index provided that the second mode is selected, and to restrict a lower limit value of the target speed of the engine to the lower limit speed in case the target speed of the engine exceeds the lower limit speed under the second mode.
