    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body; a printhead to discharge droplets; a sub tank to hold a liquid to be supplied to the printhead for discharge as droplets; a movable carriage for scanning, including the printhead and the sub tank; a main tank to contain the liquid to be supplied to the sub tank; a liquid supply pump, disposed on the carriage, to supply the liquid from the main tank to the sub tank; a first liquid supply tube that connects the main tank to the liquid supply pump; and a second liquid supply tube that connects the liquid supply pump to the sub tank. A fluid resistance of the first liquid supply tube is greater than a fluid resistance of the second liquid supply tube. The liquid supply pump includes a deformable portion that shrinks and expands in a carriage scanning direction, by scanning movement of the carriage, to take the liquid in and pump the liquid out, and the volume of liquid supplied to the sub tank being greater than the volume of liquid supplied to the main tank when the liquid supply pump supplies the liquid to the sub tank.

    摘要: A droplet ejection device includes a droplet ejection head. The droplet ejection head includes droplet ejection nozzles, a common liquid chamber, an air vent nozzle, and a nozzle face. The ejection nozzles are arranged side by side in a vertical direction. Each ejection nozzle has a first channel to eject droplets. The vent nozzle has a second channel to vent air from the common chamber. The nozzle face is disposed in the vertical direction or a direction tilted downward relative to the vertical direction. The first channel is tilted downward so that a side proximal to the nozzle face is lower than another side proximal to the common chamber. The vent nozzle is disposed above a topmost one of the ejection nozzles. The second channel is tilted upward so that a side proximal to the nozzle face is higher than another side proximal to the common chamber.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a suction controller to seal a nozzle face of a recording head with a cap and drives a suction device to suck liquid from the head to perform sucking operation. The dummy ejection controller ejects, from the head, droplets not contributing to image formation to perform dummy ejection. The first tinier measures a first elapsed time after the dummy ejection. The second timer measures a second elapsed time after the sucking operation. A liquid discharge amount of the sucking operation is set to be greater than that of the dummy ejection. When the first elapsed time is equal to or greater than a first threshold time, the dummy ejection controller performs the dummy ejection. When the second elapsed time is equal to or greater than a second threshold time which is greater than the first threshold time, the suction controller performs the sucking operation.

    摘要: An image pickup apparatus which is capable of achieving excellent moving image shooting even when strobe popup is not successfully performed during moving image shooting. A camera implementing the image pickup apparatus has a strobe that shifts between a retracted position and a service position. When a motor for operating the camera performs reverse rotation, the strobe is driven to the service position. An MPU instructs the motor to drive the strobe to the service position, and determines, based on a signal from a popup position-detecting switch, whether or not the strobe has been normally driven to the service position. When the strobe has not been normally driven to the service position, the MPU performs error handling. The error handling is carried out differently between a case where moving image shooting is being performed and a case where the moving image shooting is not being performed.

    摘要: A numerical controller in which group IDs are automatically allocated to I/O units so that the group IDs and addresses can be set automatically even when a system configuration is changed in response to detection of a configuration error. When a power of the numerical controller is turned on, group IDs are successively allocated to I/O units with distance from the numerical controller, and types of the I/O units are stored. Initial values of the group IDs allocated when the power is turned on for the first time after a system of the numerical controller is constructed, and addresses for the allocated group IDs are stored. An alarm is issued if the types and number of units for the group IDs automatically allocated for the second or later time of starting the numerical controller are different from the initial values.
