    Abstract: A sheet cutting device includes a stage including a placement surface on which a to-be-cut sheet is placed; a strip-shaped fixed blade that is provided in one end portion of the stage; a movable blade that works together with the fixed blade to cut the sheet placed on the placement surface of the stage gradually from one end portion of the sheet to a different one end portion; and a support section that is located between the one end of the fixed blade and the other end in such a way as to be closer to a vertically downward side than the fixed blade and be closer to a vertically upward side than a bottom surface of a waste box placed closer to the vertically downward side than the fixed blade, to temporarily support part of a remnant generated after cutting by the fixed and movable blades.

    Abstract: A power conversion device includes a switching circuit with multiple series circuits having upper arm switching elements connected in series with lower arm switching elements, receives DC power to generate AC power for a permanent magnet motor; a control circuit that calculates a state of the switching elements based on input information for each control cycle, and generates a control signal for controlling switching elements according; and a driver circuit that generates a drive signal that renders the switching elements conductive or non-conductive on the basis of the control signal from the control circuit. The control circuit predicts a locus of a d-axial magnetic flux and a locus of a q-axial magnetic flux, and calculates the state of the switching elements so that the d-axial magnetic flux falls within a given d-axial magnetic flux fluctuation range, and the q-axial magnetic flux falls within a given q-axial magnetic flux fluctuation range.

    Abstract: The present invention realize a method of managing a database capable of hierarchically building master nodes, and efficiently performing the update of the master nodes. A lower-level master node sends, to a higher-level master node, a write set expanded in its own memory including a shadow copy of its own database and a heaptuple map, and the higher-level master node that received the write set verifies whether the update has already been executed and sends the record of this update to the lower-level master node as a transaction log, whereby the database can be updated efficiently and consistently from the lower-level master node to the higher-level master node, and from the higher-level master node to the lower-level master node under its control.

    Abstract: In this centrifugal blood pump apparatus, one permanent magnet is provided in one surface of an impeller, a second permanent magnet is provided in an inner wall of a blood chamber, a third permanent magnet is provided in the other surface of the impeller, and a fourth permanent magnet and a rotor for driving the impeller to rotate are provided, with an diaphragm being interposed. An amount of change in attractive force between the first permanent magnet and the second permanent magnet and an amount of change in attractive force between the third and fourth permanent magnets when the impeller is eccentric are made substantially equal to each other. Therefore, a levitation position of the impeller can always be maintained at a substantially central position in a housing.
