摘要: An organic optical device which can suppress deterioration due to moisture or an impurity is provided. An organic optical device includes a supporting body, a functional layer provided over the supporting body, and a light-emitting body containing an organic compound provided over the functional layer. The functional layer includes an insulating film containing gallium or aluminum, zinc, and oxygen. The supporting body and the functional layer each have a property of transmitting light with a wavelength of greater than or equal to 400 nm and less than or equal to 700 nm. By using the insulating film containing gallium or aluminum, zinc, and oxygen as a protective film, entry of moisture or an impurity into an organic compound or a metal material can be suppressed.

The apparatus includes: a second deposition chamber; a third deposition chamber coupled to the second deposition chamber; a transfer unit for transferring a substrate from second deposition chamber to third deposition chamber; plural third deposition sources arranged in the substrate transfer direction in the second deposition chamber; and a fourth and fifth deposition sources alternately arranged in the transfer direction in the third deposition chamber. In the third deposition chamber, the fourth deposition source is placed nearest to the second deposition source. The fourth deposition source contains a host material, and the fifth deposition source contains a dopant material. The HOMO level of a material of the third deposition source is adjusted to that of the host material.

In the light-emitting module, an element substrate with gas barrier properties is used; a light-emitting element is optically connected to one surface side of the element substrate; and a diffuse reflection layer is in contact with the other surface side of the element substrate. The diffuse reflection layer has a diffuse reflectance of greater than or equal to 75% and less than 100%. The light-emitting element includes a layer containing a light-emitting organic compound between a pair of light-transmitting electrodes. The element substrate transmits light emitted from the light-emitting element; the refractive index of the element substrate is different from that of layer containing a light-emitting organic compound by 0.2 or less.

摘要: In a light-emitting device, an insulating separation layer whose upper portion protrudes more than a bottom portion in a direction parallel to a substrate is provided on and in contact with a common wiring provided over the substrate. An EL layer provided over the separation layer on the common wiring is physically divided by the separation layer. An upper electrode layer formed in the same position is also physically divided by the separation layer and is in contact with the common wiring in a region overlapped with the most protruding portion of the separation layer. Such a common wiring may be used as an auxiliary wiring. Further, such a light-emitting device may be applied to a lighting device and a display device.

摘要: An object is to provide a deposition method for smoothly obtaining desired pattern shapes of material layers and a method for manufacturing a light-emitting device while throughput is improved when a plurality of different material layers is stacked on a substrate. A material layer is selectively formed in advance in a position overlapped with a light absorption layer over a first substrate by pump feeding. Three kinds of light-emitting layers are deposited on one deposition substrate. This first substrate and a second substrate that is to be a deposition target substrate are arranged to face each other, and the light absorption layer is heated by being irradiated with light, whereby a film is deposited on the second substrate. Three kinds of light-emitting layers can be deposited with positional accuracy by performing only one position alignment before light irradiation.

摘要: There is a problem in a dual emission device emitting light out of both surfaces that an image on the surface and an image on the rear surface are different from each other (either image is mirror-reversed). A dual emission device is disclosed in which either light emitted from the light-emitting device is reflected by glass including a semi-transmissive film to display on glass an image same as another image obtained also from the light-emitting device, and simultaneously, external information can be viewed through the glass. A mirror can be arranged between the dual emission device and the glass including a semitransparent film.
