An electronic greeting card integrated with a physical carrier is disclosed and includes: a first wireless communication circuit module for wirelessly transceiving a signal associated with data or a command; a first communication software module, when executed, establishing a communication link with an electronic apparatus with a greeting card browser via the first wireless communication circuit module; a greeting card software module for editing, browsing and archiving the digital content, and storing the digital content or the status information back to the electronic greeting card; at least one flash memory for storing programming codes respectively corresponding to the software modules and storing the digital content and status information; a processor for processing the data or command from the first wireless communication circuit module; and a physical carrier for carrying the first wireless communication circuit module, the flash memory and the processor.
Abstract:
The Hi-SD CBS includes a termination unit and pluralities of distributed customer premise units connected through the cable TV (CATV) network. The radio signals in Hi-SD CBS are propagating inside the co-axial cable. To insure the linking quality between the termination unit and customer premise devices, preamble procedures are required to adjust the transmitting radio power, the receiver sensitivity, the channel equalization, and to synchronize the transceivers for data transmission between the termination unit and the customer premise devices. To guarantee a secure link between the termination unit and an individual customer premise device or a group of premise devices, the termination unit provides different encryption keys to different customer premise device groups.

This present invention relates to a paralleled power conditioning system with circulating current filter, comprising: an input terminal for receiving a input power; a plurality of power conditioning units; and a load. Each power conditioning unit includes: a DC/DC converter coupled to the input for receiving the input power so as to convert the input power to a DC voltage; a DC/AC inverter coupled to the DC/DC converter for converting the DC voltage to a AC voltage; and a filter coupled to the DC/AC inverter for eliminating the noise generated by the AC voltage and the circulating current among the plurality of power conditioning units so as to generate a filter voltage. The load is connected to the plurality of power conditioning units. The plurality of power conditioning units are connected in parallel to the load.
Abstract:
An arbitrary step number is used in an encoding apparatus and method to encode an input data, or in a decoding apparatus and method to decode an input code. The arbitrary step number is an even number and greater than one, so that arbitrary compression ratio is available. In association with a lossless encoder further in the encoding apparatus and method, an optimum compression ratio is obtained.

A method for in-situ reduction of volatile residual contamination on a semiconductor process wafer following a plasma etching process including providing an ambient controlled chamber for accepting transfer of a semiconductor process wafer under controlled ambient conditions following a plasma etching process; providing a heat exchange surface disposed with the ambient controlled chamber in heat exchange relationship with means for heating the heat exchange surface; transferring a semiconductor process wafer having volatile residual contamination under controlled ambient conditions to the ambient controlled chamber; mounting the semiconductor process wafer in heat exchange relationship with the heat exchange surface; and, heating in-situ the heat exchange surface for a time period to thereby heat the semiconductor process wafer to vaporize the volatile residual contamination on the semiconductor process wafer while simultaneously removing a resulting vapor from the ambient controlled chamber.

An apparatus for attenuating physical damage to a substrate, along with an attendant method, comprises as a first component a base plate having defined therein a location for receiving a substrate cassette. The apparatus also comprises a substrate retainer movably attached to the base plate such that when the substrate cassette having a substrate contained therein is positioned on the base plate at the location for receiving the substrate cassette, and the substrate is subjected to a mechanical force, the substrate retainer moves such as to retain the substrate within the substrate cassette with a retaining force. Both the apparatus and the method are particularly applicable for attenuating damage to a substrate when spin-drying the substrate.

A liquid crystal display device including a frame, a liquid crystal module and a back light module mounted within the frame, and a transparent backing covered on the frame over the back light module, the back light module consisting of a diffusion scroll, a reflecting scroll, and a photo conductive plate disposed between the diffusion scroll and the reflecting scroll, the diffusion scroll including a diffusion screen and a transparent screen connected in series, the reflecting scroll including an opaque reflecting screen and a transparent screen, the frame having rotary knobs turned to rotate the diffusion scroll and the reflecting scroll, permitting the diffusion screen and the opaque reflecting screen to be aligned with the liquid crystal module for image displays, or permitting the transparent screens to be aligned with the liquid crystal module for slide projections.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a plastic waveguide for guiding terahertz (THz) wave with a wavelength ranging from 30 to 3000 μm. The plastic waveguide includes a core and a cladding layer. At least part of the core is made of a first plastic medium having a first refractive index, and the maximum length of a cross-section of the core is smaller than the wavelength of the guided terahertz wave. The cladding layer surrounds the core and has a second refractive index lower than the first refractive index. In the invention, only one wave mode is propagated in the plastic waveguide, and a first attenuation constant of the core for the guided terahertz wave is higher than a second attenuation constant of the cladding layer for the guided terahertz wave.

A computer peripheral device with the functions of a radio, a microphone, and a mouse consists of a USB control interface, a mouse circuit, a radio circuit, and a microphone. The USB control interface has a USB port for being connected to a computer. The mouse circuit and the radio circuit are connected to the USB control interface. The radio circuit consists of a phase lock loop, a frequency modulation circuit, an antenna, and an audio processing unit. The microphone circuit is connected to an audio processing unit. By the aforementioned structure, a coordinate signal is outputted from the USB control interface through the mouse circuit for controlling a computer program. The radio program serves to control the radio circuit through the USB control interface for receiving the broadcast program from a radio broadcasting station. Then, the audio processing unit serves to digitize the audio signal and then send the digital audio signal to the computer through the USB control interface for being converted back into an audio for being outputted. The microphone circuit serves to pick up a voice signal and then the signal is processed by the audio processing unit and then is sent to the computer through the USB control interface for being converted into voice for being outputted.
