摘要: A method and system for inhibiting the flow of air through a vent or vent plate within a living space. The present system includes a cover and side walls of a vent cover that are formed in the shape of the vent plate. Attached to the vent cover are magnets that are positioned on the vent cover to align with fasteners of the vent plate. The alignment of the magnets with the fasteners enables the vent cover to be securely attached to the vent plate via and prevent the flow of air from the living space.

摘要: A system and method for unclogging a drain involving at least one internal member and at least one external member. At least one member is ferromagnetic, and at least one member is a magnet. External members may have handles. Internal members are disposed inside a pipe and external members are disposed outside a pipe. When an external member is moved, the magnetic force between the internal and external members causes the internal member to move. Internal members can be disposed such that they cause a clog to move further into the drain system. Internal members can also be disposed such that they are below the clog when it forms, allowing the internal members to move the clog out of the pipe system, into the sink, toilet, or other basin. Safety members can be disposed below the internal members to prevent loss of internal members into pipe system.

摘要: Use of a therapeutic molecule, for the treatment of specific pain conditions, wherein the therapeutic molecule is a single chain, polypeptide fusion protein, comprising: a non-cytotoxic protease, or a fragment thereof, which protease or protease fragment can cleave a protein of the exocytic fusion apparatus of a nociceptive sensory afferent; a Targeting Moiety that can bind to a Binding Site on the nociceptive sensory afferent, which Binding Site can undergo endocytosis to be incorporated into an endosome within the nociceptive sensory afferent; a protease cleavage site at which site the fusion protein is cleavable by a protease, wherein the protease cleavage site is located between the non-cytotoxic protease or fragment thereof and the Targeting Moiety; and a translation domain that can translocate the protease or protease fragment from within an endosome, across the endosomal membrane and into the cytosol of the nociceptive sensory afferent.

摘要: A technique is provided for configuring an interface device. Individual device elements are stored on the interface device and each element includes a functionality and a visual representation. A general purpose engine resident on the interface device enumerates properties of the device elements in response to a query in a design-time environment. Design-time environment may be served to a general purpose computer working as a configuration station. The general purpose engine is independent of the device elements enumerated. A user viewable screen is then generated for viewing in the design-time environment, with the potential for altering properties of the enumerated device elements. The viewable screen and design-time environment may be displayed in a general purpose viewer or browser by collecting the visual representations associated with the device elements.

摘要: A technique is provided for enhancing the performance of an interface device. A collection of device elements having properties including a visual representation and a functionality are instantiated in a global container. The global container includes the device elements that are required for various screen views. Device elements that are not required in a currently displayed screen view are torn off in the global container so that memory and processing requirements are reduced, while increasing the speed and performance of the interface, particularly in switching between screen views.

摘要: A technique is provided for configuring an interface device. The interface device includes a plurality of device elements, such as objects configured in accordance with object-oriented programming concepts. A query from a general purpose viewer is received by the interface device, such as originating from a configuration station where the general purpose viewer is operative. The query is interpreted by server-side scripting executed in the interface device to identify the device elements and to display visual representations of the device elements in a design-time environment. The design-time environment and the visual representations are then transmitted to a configuration station. The device elements, their properties and functionalities may be altered by means of the design-time environment and the server-side scripting to create interface screens, alter device elements and their properties and functions, and so forth.
