    摘要: An apparatus and method for selecting the best beam in a wireless communication system are provided. An operation of a Base Station (BS) includes repeatedly transmitting reference signals beamformed with a first width, receiving a feedback signal indicating at least one preferred-beam having the first width from at least one terminal, determining a direction range within which reference signals beamformed with a second width are to be transmitted and a transmission pattern, based on the at least one preferred-beam having the first width, repeatedly transmitting the reference signals beamformed with the second width within the determined direction range according to the transmission pattern, and receiving a feedback signal indicating at least one preferred-beam having the second width from the at least one terminal.

    摘要: A resource management method and apparatus in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) cellular system supporting a first system communication mode and a second system communication mode in an uplink using Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM) are provided. A resource management apparatus provided in a Base Station (BS) or a Mobile Station (MS) subchannelizes physical resource units constituting a system bandwidth into a plurality of subchannels according a scheme defined in the first system communication mode, and renumbers the plurality of subchannels with indexes in reverse order to be used for an MS operating in the second system communication mode. The plurality of subchannels having the renumbered indexes are used for resource allocation and data exchange between the BS and the MS operating in the second system communication mode.

In the method for controlling an HARQ operation, indication information indicating a subframe position where transmission of a data burst starts and the number of subframes required for transmission of the data burst is transmitted to a receiver through an i-th frame. When the number of subframes does not exceed a threshold, it is determined that the data burst at the subframe position indicated by indication information of an (i+1)-th frame is retransmitted to the receiver. When the number of subframes exceeds the threshold, it is determined that the data burst at the subframe position indicated by indication information of an (i+n)-th frame, where n is a positive integer exceeding 1, is retransmitted to the receiver.
