A display vase adapted to hold a variety of longitudinal stems or sticks, the vase including a retainer mountable within the transparent vase that can hold a multitude of display items. The retainer may sit on a shelf or retaining ring inside the vase. The retainer may include an array of hexagonally shaped cells that may interlock with a lower level of interlocking cells. Also included is a method of arranging and displaying stemmed items in a vase. A retainer is set in a vase and stems are secured therethrough, preferably into a frog apparatus at bottom of vase.

A polymerizable composition includes at least one monomer, a photoinitiator capable of initiating polymerization of the monomer when exposed to light, and a phosphor capable of producing light when exposed to radiation (typically X-rays). The material is particularly suitable for bonding components at ambient temperature in situations where the bond joint is not accessible to an external light source. An associated method includes: placing a polymerizable adhesive composition, including a photoinitiator and energy converting material, such as a down-converting phosphor, in contact with at least two components to be bonded to form an assembly; and, irradiating the assembly with radiation at a first wavelength, capable of conversion (down-conversion by the phosphor) to a second wavelength capable of activating the photoinitiator, to prepare items such as inkjet cartridges, wafer-to-wafer assemblies, semiconductors, integrated circuits, and the like.

A method of irradiating a target in a subject using charged particle therapy includes the steps of positioning a subject on a supporting device, positioning a delivery device adapted to deliver charged particles, and delivering charged particles to a target in the subject wherein the delivery device rotates around the target during delivery of at least a portion of the charged particles.

Man-portable radiation generation sources and systems that may be carried by hand to a site of interest by one or two people, are disclosed. Methods of use of such sources and systems are also disclosed. Battery operated radiation generation sources, air cooled radiation generation sources, and charged particle accelerators, are also disclosed. A radiation generation source with a target less than 0.20 mm is also disclosed.

In accordance with an embodiment, a method of examining contents of an object is disclosed comprising conducting a first examination of an object, checking for the presence of delayed neutrons if the first examination indicates that suspect material is present, and determining whether the object contains nuclear material based, at least in part, on the check. The first examination may comprise a manual examination and scanning of the object to form an image, for example. The first examination may also comprise scanning of the object at two different radiation energies, calculating a function of the energy detected at the two radiation energies, and determining whether the object at least potentially contains suspect material based, at least in part, on the comparison. Systems are also disclosed.

A method is provided that comprises forming a copper seed layer on a workpiece and measuring the uniformity of the copper seed layer on the workpiece. The method further comprises applying the uniformity measurement to modify processing to form a copper layer having a desired uniformity profile for increased planarization in subsequent planarizing.
