Abstract:
A system for controlling a free end of a stack pin used with a stack of weights, the system including a nesting device configured to secure the free end of a stack pin when the stack pin is not lifting a weight and a tuning device configured to adjust the nesting device to exert a back up pressure on the stack pin to counteract potential energy that accumulates when the stack pin is being used to lift the weight.
Abstract:
A system for treating an aneurysm comprises an elongate flexible shaft and a nosecone. An expandable member may be used to expand an expandable endoframe within a double-walled filling structure. The filling structure is adapted to be filled with a hardenable fluid filing medium so that an outer wall conforms to an inside surface of the aneurysm and an inner wall forms a substantially tubular lumen to provide a path for blood flow. In the expanded configuration the endoframe engages the inner wall of the filling structure. One or more tethers releasably couple the filling structure and/or endoframe with the shaft thereby constraining axial movement of the structures relative to each other. The nosecone is constructed to have a series of side ports and a through lumen such that the nosecone can be positioned with a guidewire and simultaneously receive a contrast media for performing angiography through the lumen.

Abstract:
Delivery system for delivery of a medical device includes an inner member having a proximal section, a distal section and a longitudinal axis therebetween. The inner member has a first layer and a second layer wherein the first layer and the second layer are attached together at a first segment and a second segment. The second segment is spaced from the first segment along a length of the inner member and the first layer and the second layer are free of attachment between the first segment and the second segment. The inner member further includes at least two wires disposed along the length of the inner member between the first layer and the second layer. As disclosed, the at least two wires can include a first coil and a second coil moveable relative to each other between the first and second segments.
Abstract:
The present invention is a method and system that facilitates the production of personalized movies. The invention enables the repeated and high-volume generation of unique, customized multi-media (e.g., movies) from a collection of stock media. A production method for creating personalized movies comprises the steps of receiving user-provided media, receiving parameters which define how the user wants the movies to be personalized, and integrating the user-provided media into predefined spatial and temporal portions of stock media utilizing a compositing algorithm to form a composited movie. In addition, the method may also include the step of comparing and rescheduling production tasks along relevant dimensions utilizing an optimization algorithm in accordance with received parameters.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a general-purpose analogical reasoning system. More specifically, the present invention relates to a high-performance, semantic-based hybrid architecture for analogical reasoning, capable of finding correspondences between a novel situation and a known situation using relational symmetries, object similarities, or a combination of the two. The system is a high-performance symbolic connectionist model which multiplexes activation across a non-temporal dimension and uses controlled activation flow based on an analogical network structure. The system uses incremental inference to stop inference early for object correspondence, uses initial mappings to constrain future mappings, uses inferred mappings to synchronize activation, and independent mapping based on roles, superficial similarity, or composites.
