    摘要: Provided are processes for making, and processes for using triglycerides as plasticizers. The process for making the triglyceride plasticizer includes: (i) recovering at least one linear C4 to C10 aldehyde, one branched C4 to C10 aldehyde, or a combination thereof from a hydroformylation product; (ii) oxidizing the linear, branched or combination thereof C4 to C10 aldehyde to form a linear, branched or combination thereof C4 to C10 acid; (iii) esterifying the linear, branched or combination thereof C4 to C10 acid with a polyol to yield a linear alkyl triglyceride, a branched alkyl triglyceride, or a combination thereof, and reaction byproducts; (iv) purifying the linear, branched or combination thereof alkyl triglyceride to form a plasticizer stream, a reaction byproduct stream, and an unreacted input stream, wherein the total carbon number of the triester groups ranges from 20 to 25 for greater than or equal to 45 wt % of the plasticizer; and (v) recycling from the purifying step back to the esterifying step the unreacted input stream and the reaction byproduct stream.

    摘要: Provided is a process for oligomerizing n-olefins. The process has the step of reacting (oligomerizing) an amount of one or more n-olefins in the presence of a catalytically effective amount of a two or more metal oxides at a temperature effective to effect oligomerization. The two or more metal oxides are represented by the formula MOn/M′On′. M and M′, are, independently, selected from the group consisting of Al, Ce, Fe, P, W, Zr, and combinations thereof. M and M′ are different metals or combinations of metals. “n” and “n′” are positive numbers and vary stoichiometrically depending on the valency of M and M′, respectively. Provided is also a process for alkylation of an alkylatable aromatic compound. The process has the step of contacting an amount of one or more n-olefins with an amount of aromatic compound in the presence of a catalytically effective amount of the two or more metal oxides at a temperature effective to effect alkylation of the aromatic compound.

    摘要: In a process for oxidizing alkylaromatic compounds to the corresponding hydroperoxide, an alkylaromatic compound of general formula (I): in which R1 and R2 each independently represents an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, provided that R1 and R2 may be joined to form a cyclic group having from 4 to 10 carbon atoms, said cyclic group being optionally substituted, and R3 represents hydrogen, one or more alkyl groups having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a cyclohexyl group, is contacted with oxygen in the presence of an added catalyst comprising tert-butyl hydroperoxide and in the absence of any other catalyst, to produce a hydroperoxide of general formula (II): in which R1, R2 and R3 have the same meaning as in formula (I). The hydroperoxide may then be converted into a phenol and a ketone of the general formula R1COCH2R2 (III), in which R1 and R2 have the same meaning as in formula (I).
