摘要: Aluminum alloy products about 4 inches thick or less that possesses the ability to achieve, when solution heat treated, quenched, and artificially aged, and in parts made from the products, an improved combination of strength, fracture toughness and corrosion resistance, the alloy consisting essentially of: about 6.8 to about 8.5 wt. % Zn, about 1.5 to about 2.00 wt. % Mg, about 1.75 to about 2.3 wt. % Cu; about 0.05 to about 0.3 wt. % Zr, less than about 0.1 wt. % Mn, less than about 0.05 wt. % Cr, the balance Al, incidental elements and impurities and a method for making same. The invention alloy is useful in making structural members for commercial airplanes including, but not limited to, upper wing skins and stringers, spar caps, spar webs and ribs of either built-up or integral construction. The invention alloy may be aged by 2 or 3 step practices while exceeding the SCC requirements for applications for which the invention alloy is primarily intended. The flexibility of the invention in this regard is useful for its application in multi-alloy or multi-material systems joined by welding or bonding and subsequently aged.

摘要: The invention is concerned with a lock mechanism of the kind having a deadbolt (9) which is operable by either an inside actuator or an outside actuator. The inside actuator usually includes a turn knob or the like, and the outside actuator usually includes a key operated lock. The lock mechanism includes a gear train (8) through which each of the two actuators is drivably connected to the deadbolt (9). The gear train includes two drive gears (13, 14) which are independently rotatable about a common axis of rotation, and each is connected to a respective one of the two actuators so as to rotate in response to operation of that actuator. The gear train (8) also includes two driven gear (17, 18) which are united to form a single piece composite gear (16), and each driven gear (17, 18) is cooperable with a respective one of the two drive gears (13, 14). The composite gear (16) is connected to the deadbolt (9) so that the deadbolt (9) moves between operative and inoperative positions in response to rotation of the composite gear (16). Each actuator adopts a rest position when the deadbolt (9) is in the inoperative position, and neither drive gear (13, 14) cooperatively engages with the composite gear (16) when the respective actuator is in the rest position. Furthermore, the gear arrangement is such that the outside actuator turns through 360° to cause the deadbolt (9) to move from one of its positions to the other, whereas 180° rotation of the inside actuator is sufficient to effect the same degree of deadbolt movement

摘要: An architecture, arrangement, or construction for battery systems such as monopolar and bipolar batteries is disclosed. The battery system includes a stack of bipolar or monopolar modules having current collectors extending from opposite sides of the battery system. The current collectors are located in cooling channels. The cooling channel is surrounded by an insulating material. The cooling channel contains a fluid which may be air, water, forced air, Freon.RTM. or any other media useful in heating and cooling applications. The battery may be vented or a heat exchanger may be provided in communication with the cooling channels. The thermal management system is particularly useful in applications such as electric vehicles. Heat may be provided through the cooling channels in order to raise the temperature inside the battery system.

摘要: The present invention generally provides methods and apparatus for connecting threaded members while ensuring that a proper connection is made, particularly for premium grade connections. In one embodiment, a method of connecting threaded tubular members for use in a wellbore or a riser system is provided. The method includes the acts of operating a power drive unit, thereby rotating a first threaded tubular member relative to a second threaded tubular member; measuring the rotation of the first threaded tubular member; and compensating the rotation measurement by subtracting a deflection of at least one of: the power drive unit, and one of the tubular members.
