Abstract:
There is provided herein, in one specific embodiment, silicone composition(s) comprising unique combination(s) of silicone polymer and alkyltrisiloxane(s) which can produce silicone composition(s) with lower solids content than silicone compositions that use other than alkyltrisiloxane(s); while still maintaining a desirable viscosity.
Abstract:
The cosmetic compositions of the present invention comprise silicone copolymers, terpolymers and higher order polymers that comprise 1) polyether substituted structural units and 2) epoxy or oxirane structural units that are reacted with acrylate species to produce cross linked silicones comprising polyether substituted structural units and acrylate cross links. The cross linked polymers of the present invention are self-emulsifying and may be either water swellable or oil swellable.
Abstract:
A film forming composition with spreading properties derived from an aqueous emulsion comprising (I) colloidal silica core/silicone shell particles consisting of (a) 90 wt % to 10 wt % cores of colloidal silica and (b) 10 wt % to 90 wt % shells of polyorganosiloxane; (II) a polyalkyleneoxide modified trisiloxane; (III) an emulsifier package consisting of at least one anionic surfactant, and (IV) the salt of an acidic polymerization catalyst. The composition may include optional ingredients useful in Personal Care, Hair Care, Skin Care, Agricultural, and Home Care applications.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a subcutaneous (or submuscular) single or multiple-electrode array that provides various embodiments of a compliant surround shroud coupled to a peripheral portion of an implantable medical device (IMD). The shroud incorporates a plurality of substantially planar electrodes mechanically coupled within recessed portions of the shroud. These electrodes electrically couple to IMD circuitry to monitor cardiac activity of a subject. Temporal recordings of the detected cardiac activity are referred to herein as an extra-cardiac electrogram (EC-EGM). The recordings can be stored upon computer readable media within an IMD at various resolution (e.g., continuous beat-by-beat, periodic, triggered, mean value, average value, etc.). Real time or stored EC-EGM signals can be provided to remote equipment via telemetry. For example, when telemetry, or programming, head of an IMD programming apparatus is positioned within range of an IMD the programmer receives some or all of the EC-EGM signals.
Abstract:
A variable intensity light device is provided to illuminate front panel user buttons in a television apparatus. The television apparatus allows user control of the level of light intensity preferably via an on-screen menu. Automatic detection circuitry/logic is also provided that detects whether a light such as an LED is present upon initial user set-up. This allows the inclusion of the light device in televisions whose controllers are already designed. Moreover, the light device preferably utilizes a single wire for light presence detection and intensity control. Detection of the light causes the television apparatus to include a light control on-screen menu in the main television on-screen menu. Preferably, the light control menu allows the user selection of at least six different brightness or intensity levels for the light. In one form, the light is a diode that provides blue light though a light pipe.
Abstract:
A configuration for a transport node of a telecommunication system comprises a pair of transparent mux/demuxs provided at two sites and connected over a high rate span. The T-Muxs provide continuity of all tribs and maintain a lower bit rate linear or ring system through the higher bit rate span. The lower bit rate linear or ring system operates as if it were directly connected without the higher bit rate midsection. For the forward direction of the traffic, the T-Mux comprises a multi-channel receiver for receiving a the trib signals and providing for each trib signal a trib data signal and a trib OAM&P signal. The data signals are multiplexed into a supercarrier data signal and the OAM&P signals are processed to generate a supercarrier OAM&P signal. A supercarrier transmitter maps the supercarrier data signal and the supercarrier OAM&P signal into a supercarrier signal and transmits same over the high rate span. Reverse operations are effected for the reverse direction of traffic. With this invention, an entire ring system does not have to be upgraded to a higher line rate due to fiber exhaust on a single span. The invention is particularly applicable to SONET OC-48/OC-12/OC-3 linear and ring networks and the high rate span could be an OC-192 line.
Abstract:
A suspension comprising an aqueous structured surfactant having suspended therein particles or droplets of a substantially water insoluble or sparingly soluble biocidal or agrochemical active substance in a weight ratio of total surfactant to said active substance of less than 20:1.
Abstract:
Aqueous structured surfactants, e.g., lamellar, or preferably spherulitic systems optionally containing suspended solids are used as functional fluids, such as drilling fluids, cutting fluids, hydraulic fluids, heat transfer fluids, construction muds and lubricants. A composition consisting essentially of: water; a surfactant or mixture of surfactants present in a concentration sufficient to form a mobile spherulitic or dispersed lamellar phase in the absence of an electrolyte; and a substantially water insoluble functional material, suspended in the composition, the composition being substantially free from electrolyte.
Abstract:
Small bunches of baleable material are formed into self-sustaining tied small bales as the material is fed to a large container. A plurality of the small bales filling the container are tied into a self-sustaining large bale. Untying a large bale from storage produces a plurality of easily handled tied small bales instead of a large mass of loose material.
