摘要： A multi-position switch particularly adaptable for an electronic watch comprises a movable plate or disk mounted within a cup-like body and rotatable about an axis to different positions for accomplishing various setting or operating modes. Fixed contacts on the inside of the switch plate are spaced apart but electrically connected so that when the plate is rotated to certain positions relative to its central axis the contacts are aligned for engagement with a particular pair of a series of terminals located on the inside planar surface of the switch body and connected through the body to the internal circuitry of the device. The interconnection of certain pairs of terminals accomplished by the contacts activates internal circuitry of the device to produce the desired operating function or mode.

摘要： A system and method for facilitating take-off from or landing on aircraft on a short runway includes a linear array of individual linear induction motors placed along the short runway. A reaction plate mounted to the aircraft is either accelerated or decelerated by the individual linear induction motors. A control system associated with each individual linear induction motor senses the presence of the aircraft, determines its speed, and applies a predetermined amount of electrical energy to either accelerate or decelerate the aircraft.

摘要： A process control apparatus for use in a control system includes a controller (40) for coupling to a process in a closed loop of the control system and for controlling a process variable having predetermined set point and measured values. A deviation signal is generated by comparing the set point and measured values to generate a deviation signal and the controller (40) is responsive to the deviation signal to control at least one operating parameter of the process to reduce the deviation signal. An identification section (60) is provided which is responsive to the deviation signal and which provides a measured value of at least one characteristic of the closed loop response of the control system from the deviation signal by integrating the deviation signal with time. A design section (80) is coupled to the output of the identification section (60) and compares the measured characteristic value with at least one predetermined desired characteristic value representing a desired closed loop response of the control system. The controller (40) is adjustable when the difference between the measured and desired characteristic values is greater than a predetermined amount such that the closed loop response of the control system moves towards a desired closed loop response.

摘要： A well test system for automatically testing a plurality of wells in an oilfield is disclosed. The system includes means for detecting leaking diverter valves. The system also includes means for purging a test separator as a function of the number of free water dumps and the number of emulsion oil dumps or for alternatively controlling the purging of the test vessel or separator as a function of time or alternatively as a function of the first to occur of a predetermined number of dumps being achieved or predetermined time having elapsed. The system also has means for determining leaking or stuck open dump valves in the water leg or emulsion oil line of the system.

摘要： Process for producing a mechanical pulp of improved linting properties by screening the pulp to provide a through and a retained fraction, fractionating the through fraction by means of a hydrocyclone into at least two fractions one fraction having an average specific surface less than a predetermined value between 1.2 and 4 m.sup.2 /g and the second fraction having an average specific surface greater than the first fraction and subjecting the first fraction to mechanical processing thereby to form a processed fraction having an average specific surface of 4 to 10 m.sup.2 /g and recombining said process fraction and said second fraction into a combined pulp.The invention also relates to a method of determining specific surface distribution of fibres of the mechanical pulp by fractionating the pulp in a hydrocyclone system into a plurality of underflow fractions and a plurality of overflow fractions each of said underflow and overflow fractions containing a different portion of fibres of said sample and analyzing each of said underflow fractions or of said overflow fractions or both to determine the specific surface of each of said selected underflow or overflow fractions.
