Abstract:
A content placement method includes electronically identifying a placeholder image in an electronic document. The placeholder defines a copy hole. The placeholder image is decoded to discern content selection data. The content selection data is processed to identify content that is inserted into the copy hole.
Abstract:
A system and method for controlling one or more remote sensors includes wirelessly communicating with the sensors, monitoring operation of each one of the sensors, and causing any one of the sensors that is operating in an unauthorized manner to be disabled. In one embodiment, the sensors can include micro-mechanical structure supporting electronic circuitry. The electronic circuitry is capable of monitoring at least one performance parameter of the sensor, comparing the monitored parameter to a preset limit, and disabling the sensor if the preset performance limit is exceeded.

Abstract:
An event management system is configured to host a collaboration event that includes first and second event endpoints that provide respective first and second sets of audio/visual (A/V) media streams to respective first and second sets of attendees during the first event. The event management system is configured to, while hosting the collaboration event, reconfigure the collaboration event to cause a third event endpoint to provide a third set of audio/visual (A/V) media streams to at least one of the first set of attendees.
Abstract:
A system including a first node configured to receive first data in a first format that specifies a network destination for the first data and convert the first data to second data in a second format that does not specify a network destination for the second data and a second node configured to receive the second data from the first node over a first connection and convert the second data to third data in a third format that specifies a network destination for the third data is provided.
Abstract:
A method of creating a synthetic bridge (100) has select data (406) logically extracted from an application layer of a first network (12A) which contains one or more first data streams to be transported to a second network (12B). Select data (406) is logically extracted from an application layer of the second network (12B). Select data (406) is logically extracted from an application layer of the second network (12B) which contains one or more second data streams to be transported to the first network (12A). The two or more first and second data streams are transported over separate sets of non-network media link interfaces (130-133) that only allow for limited information encoding and inherently prevent any network protocol information from being passed with the two or more first and second data streams until after the two or more first and second data streams are in the control of the opposite network from which they were transported.
Abstract:
An apparatus for mapping image shapes for a display device includes: an illuminating light source such as an integrating rod; a mechanism for selecting an image aspect ratio or shape; and a mechanism for reshaping light exiting from the illuminating light source depending upon the image aspect ratio or shape.
Abstract:
A system for determining the amount of media available to a printing device is presented. The system comprises a sensor and a disc containing one or more visual cues perceptible to the sensor. The disc is rotated by a coupled lifting member to lift a media handling tray to present any media stored thereon to a receiving printing device. The sensor generates a signal based, at least in part, on the visual cues provided from the rotated disc.
Abstract:
A method of measuring video latency between a sender and a receiver in a video conference system is disclosed. In an embodiment, the method includes initiating an electrical signal from a first location in a video conference system, transmitting the electrical signal through the video components of the video conference system, reflecting the electrical signal back through the video components of the video conference system and measuring the latency of the electrical signal at the first location related to the transmission and reflection of the electrical signal.
Abstract:
An apparatus has a content node to logically select a first A/V stream from an application layer of a first network and a collaboration node to logically select a second A/V stream from an application layer of a second network. A set of non-network media link interfaces are configured to transmit the second A/V stream from the collaboration node to the content node, and to transmit the first A/V stream from content node to the collaboration node. The non-network media link interfaces provide for limited information encoding to prevent network protocol information from being transferred between the first and second networks.
