摘要： The present invention relates generally to the field of electrical connectors comprising either: a) an immiscible blend of polymers comprising one or more polyetherimides, having more than one glass transition temperature wherein the polyetherimide has a glass transition temperature greater than 217° Celsius; b) a miscible blend of polymers, comprising one or more polyetherimides, having a single glass transition temperature greater than 180° Celsius; or, c) a single polyetherimide having a glass transition temperature of greater than 247° Celsius.

摘要： Phase separated blends of polyaryl ether ketones, polyaryl ketones, polyether ketones, polyether ether ketones and mixtures thereof with at least one polysulfone etherimide, wherein the polysulfone etherimide has greater than or equal to 50 mole % of the polymer linkages contain at least one aryl sulfone group are described. Such blends have improved load bearing capability at high temperature. In another aspect a high crystallization temperature, especially at fast cooling rates, is achieved.

摘要： It has now been surprisingly found that addition of a phosphorous-containing oxy acid to a glass-filled polycarbonate composition substantially improves its fire retardant performance. Thus, the present invention provides a method for making a flame-retarded glass-filled polycarbonate resin comprising adding to the resin an effective flame-retardant amount of a phosphorous-containing oxy acid. Where appropriate, the melt strength of the polycarbonate is enhanced by the addition of an antidrip agent and the performance can be further enhanced by the addition of a flame retardant. Use of such a composition results in superior fire-retardant performance.

摘要： A composition comprising a compatible blend of i) 15 to 45 wt % of a linear poly (arylene sulfide), ii) 50 to 85 wt % of a polyetherimide sulfone; and iii) 1 to 3 wt % of a novolac resin having an average of 2 or more epoxy groups per molecule. The composition can comprise a polyetherimide. An article made from the composition has a property selected from the group of (i) tensile strength greater than or equal to 90 megaPascals (MPa), as determined by ASTM D638, (ii) an impact strength of greater than or equal to 3 kiloJoules per square meter (kJ/m2), as determined by ASTM D256, (iii) an elongation at break greater than or equal to 3% as determined by ASTM D638, (iv) a heat distortion temperature greater than or equal to 160° C. as determined by ASTM D648, and combinations of two or more of the foregoing properties.

摘要： Disclosed herein is a composition comprising a compatible blend of i) 60 to 85 weight percent of a linear poly(arylene sulfide), ii) 15 to 40 weight percent of a polyetherimide sulfone; and iii) 1 to 3 weight percent of a novolac resin having an average of 2 or more epoxy groups per molecule. Weight percent is based on the total weight of the composition. An article made from the composition has a tensile strength greater than or equal to 70 megaPascals (MPa), as determined by ASTM D638, an impact strength of greater than or equal to 3 kiloJoules per square meter (kJ/m2), as determined by ASTM D256, and an elongation at break greater than or equal to 3 % as determined by ASTM D638. Methods of making the composition are also disclosed.
