摘要: In a method of manufacturing semiconductor wafers, front and back surfaces of the semiconductor wafers are simultaneously polished with a double-side polishing machine that includes: a carrier for accommodating the semiconductor wafer; and an upper press platen and a lower press platen for sandwiching the carrier. The method includes: accommodating the semiconductor wafer in the carrier while a thickness of the semiconductor wafer is set to be larger than a thickness of the carrier by 0 μm to 5 μm; and polishing the semiconductor wafer while feeding a polishing slurry to between the surfaces of the semiconductor wafer and surfaces of the press platens. In the polishing, an allowance of both surfaces of the semiconductor wafer is set at 5 μm or less in total.

摘要: A needle blade roll (12) for forming short fibers from a material capable of formation of artificial cotton in an artificial cotton fabricating apparatus is disclosed which is made up of a roll main body (13) and a large number of needle blades (14) implanted into a peripheral surface of the roll main body (13). In the needle blade roll (12), each needle blade (14) is arranged at a sloping angle relative to a radial line of the roll main body (13) so that its leading end lies ahead of the radial line with respect to the rotational direction of the roll main body (13). This makes it possible to form short fibers the length of which is longer than conventional, thereby fabricating artificial cotton made of such short fibers which are fully intertwined with one another.

摘要: An unsintered polytetrafluoroethylene tape for sealing screw joints is described. The tape is obtained by uniaxially stretching an unsintered body of a composition comprising 75 to 25 wt. parts of polytetrafluoroethylene fine powder and 25 to 75 wt. parts of inorganic powder which has new Mohs hardness of 3 or less and substantially no water absorption. The tape has excellent heat stability and sealing properties like a conventional polytetrafluoroethylene tape for screw joint sealing, but the required amount of PTFE can be decreased. Furthermore, by compounding a specific inorganic filler, the tape does not suffer from limitations regarding stretching conditions, and does not abrade or damage the screw.

摘要: An nuclear fuel assembly including an instrumentation tube adapted for insertion of an in-core detector tube and at least two equi-angularly disposed springs for holding the in-core detector tube concentrically within the instrumentation tube to prevent detector tube vibration is related herein. The springs are preferably secured to the inner surface of the instrumentation tube immediately above the bottom nozzle. An extension sleeve may be provided which extends upwardly or downwardly from the bottom nozzle to surroundingly receive the in-core detector tube. This will effectively increase the axial length of the in-core detector tube that is likely to abut the inner surface of the extension sleeve thus rendering the in-core dectector tube less susceptible to wear due to reactor coolant flow induced vibration.
