摘要： In one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate and a second substrate. The first substrate includes a switching element, a first electrode, a second electrode electrically connected with the switching element and facing the first electrode. In the second electrode, a plurality of slits in a V shape is formed along a first direction. The first and second substrates include first and second alignment films, respectively. The slit in the V shape includes a central portion, a first end connected with one end of the first central portion, a second end connected with the other end of the first central portion, a second central portion, a third end connected with one end of the second central portion, and a fourth end connected with the other end of the second central portion. The first end and the third end are connected each other.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes an active area which is composed of pixels arrayed in a matrix, and a light-shield area surrounding the active area. The liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate including pixel electrodes disposed in the respective pixels, a second substrate including color filters disposed in the respective pixels, and a counter-electrode which is disposed to cover the color filters and extends from the active area to at least a part of the light-shield area, and a liquid crystal layer held between the first substrate and the second substrate. The pixel electrode and the color filter of the pixel, which is disposed at an end portion of the active area, extend into the light-shield area beyond a boundary between the active area and the light-shield area.

摘要： In one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes a plurality of pixel electrodes arranged in a matrix of rows and columns on a first substrate. A plurality of counter electrodes extend along the pixel electrodes in the row direction. Each of the counter electrodes includes a first counter electrode opposing to the plurality of pixel electrodes through a first insulating layer and a second counter electrode opposing to the first counter electrode through a second insulating layer. The first counter electrode is electrically connected with the second counter electrode through a contact hole formed in the second insulating layer. The wiring resistance of the second counter electrode is smaller than that of the first counter electrode.

Furthermore, a second light shield layer is arranged adjoining the first light shield layer extending up to the end of the second insulating substrate opposing to the first substrate. A third light shield layer to shield light is provided between the first light shield layer and second light shield layer.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes an array substrate, a counter substrate and a liquid crystal layer having liquid crystal molecules interposed therebetween. The liquid crystal molecules are aligned in a direction normal to a surface of the substrates under a condition where no electrical voltage is supplied between a picture electrode and a counter electrode. An alignment control device is provided at the counter substrate and configured to control the alignment of the liquid crystal molecules under a condition where an electric field is applied between the picture electrode and the counter electrode. A scanning line crossing a pixel is divided into first and second segments. The array substrate includes a connecting element to connect the first and second segments opposite the alignment control device.
