    摘要: A battery includes: a battery case having a case body member and a case lid member having a through hole; a rivet that engages with the through hole; and a gasket. The through hole is hermetically sealed with the gasket interposed between the circumferential outer surface of the case lid member and an outer flange of the rivet. The case lid member is configured such that, in a state wherein a peripheral edge portion connected to an opening end portion of the case body member, the circumferential outer surface is positioned in the axial outward direction such that the circumferential outer surface faces further towards the outer side along the axis line of the through hole than the peripheral edge portion and the opening end portion.

    摘要: Provided is a technique for suppressing welding faults caused in sealing a case of a sealed battery by laser welding. A step for manufacturing a sealed battery having a case sealed by a sealing plug and a sealing plate, which includes a sealing step for fitting the sealing plug into a pouring hole formed in a recess of a lid portion and inserting the sealing plate into the recess, and a welding step for joining the sealing plate to the recess by laser welding. In the sealing step, a heat-insulating member is provided in a minute space defined by the recess, the sealing plug and the sealing plate so as to block at least a part of the boundary portion between the sealing plate and the recess. In the welding step, welding is completed at a position where the heat-insulating member is present in the boundary portion.

    摘要: A current collector electrically connected to a first electrode plate or a second electrode plate includes a tubular current collection section. An external terminal electrically connected to the current collector includes a tubular terminal section into which the current collection section is inserted. The current collection section has, before being inserted into the terminal section, a greater outer diameter than the inner diameter of the terminal section. In the insertion process, the diameter of the current collection section is reduced or the diameter of the terminal section is expanded so that the outer diameter of the current collection section is equal to or smaller than the inner diameter of the terminal section, and then the current collection section is inserted into the terminal section. After that, the outer peripheral surface of the current collection section and the inner peripheral surface of the terminal section are made to be in close contact with each other by the restoring force of the current collection section having the reduced diameter or of the terminal section having the expanded diameter, and as a result, the current collection section is fixed to the terminal section.

    摘要: Provided is a technique for suppressing welding faults caused in sealing a case of a sealed battery by laser welding. A step for manufacturing a sealed battery having a case sealed by a sealing plug and a sealing plate, which includes a sealing step for fitting the sealing plug into a pouring hole formed in a recess of a lid portion and inserting the sealing plate into the recess, and a welding step for joining the sealing plate to the recess by laser welding. In the sealing step, a heat-insulating member is provided in a minute space defined by the recess, the sealing plug and the sealing plate so as to block at least a part of the boundary portion between the sealing plate and the recess. In the welding step, welding is completed at a position where the heat-insulating member is present in the boundary portion.

    摘要: A lithium secondary battery is equipped with a non-recovering safety valve comprising a valve, which ruptures when the valve opens, and a valve surrounding part that surrounds the valve. The safety valve is further disposed in the valve surrounding part, and has an anti-scattering means that prevents shards, which are produced by the valve rupturing when the valve opens, from scattering outside the battery. The anti-scattering means constitutes an anti-fragmentation part of a form that prevents shards from fragmenting from the valve surrounding part.

    摘要: A battery includes a cylindrical shaft core, and a wound electrode formed by winding a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate, and a separator around the outer periphery of the core. The wound electrode has a first wound portion formed by winding a first active material uncoated portion of the first electrode plate, a second wound portion formed by winding a second active material uncoated portion of the second electrode plate, and a power generating portion positioned between the first and second wound portions and formed by winding the first and second electrode plates, and the separator. The shaft core has a current collector portion composed of a metal, which is comprised of a joint portion connected to the first or second wound portion. The portions of the first or second wound portion, which are positioned on the outside of the shaft core in the radial direction with respect to the joint portion, are overlapped and welded to the joint portion.

    摘要: A circular cylindrical battery and a method of manufacturing the circular cylindrical battery, wherein air can be more smoothly released in liquid charging operation in a manufacturing process of the battery. A circular cylindrical battery is formed by sealing an electrode wound body in a cylindrical case and has an outer terminal member mounted to one end of the battery so as to axially penetrate through a gasket. A neck is formed at the inner surface of the cylindrical case. A flange having an outer diameter greater than the inner diameter of the neck is formed on the outer terminal member. The gasket has a cylindrical portion and collar portions. To mount the outer terminal member to the cylindrical case, the gasket is mounted to the flange, liquid is charged from a through-hole with the flange held in a temporarily sealed state in which the flange is pressed into the cylindrical case until being in contact with the neck, and after that an end portion of the cylindrical case is bent to the inner surface side thereof. The bent section presses the collar portion to the flange to complete sealing.

A gasket is in the same position as the protruding section in an inside-outside direction, which is perpendicular to the vertical direction, and has a sealing part pressed by the protruding section. At least one gap exists in the vicinity of the seal section in a different position to the seal section in the inside-outside direction, and at least portions of the gaps are enclosed by the gasket and the collector terminal member.
