    摘要: A reception unit receives data from communication apparatuses. A transmission unit transmits data to the communication apparatuses. A control unit determines, in an adaptive way, which modulation and coding schemes to use to transmit and receive data. At a first stage, a modulation and coding scheme with a low transmission rate or a modulation and coding scheme that minimizes power requirements is selected from among a plurality of candidates therefor. At a second stage, the modulation and coding scheme of at least one of the communication apparatuses is changed to another scheme having a higher transmission rate, when it is impossible to allocate sufficient resources for the modulation and coding schemes selected at the first stage.

The radio communication system includes a plurality of radio base stations each having a scheduler for arranging a schedule of assignment of a slot into which data is to be inserted in a radio frame, a terminal for performing communication with at least one of the radio base stations through a connection, and a relay station for performing relay forwarding of the radio frame exchanged through the connection, the relay station including a scheduler control section for giving an instruction of the schedule to the scheduler. The scheduler control section gives the instruction to the scheduler so as not to generate duplicate slot assignment, in which the whole or a part of data is assigned to the same slot in radio frames sent at the same timing.
