摘要: The use of a compound of formula (A), which comprises a group of sub-formula (I) where R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, X1 and Y1 are various specified organic groups wherein at least one of said groups has sufficient electron whitdrawing properties to activate the multiple bonds to polymerisation, in a stereolithographic composition. Stereolithographic applications of these compounds are also described and claimed.

摘要: Compounds of the formula: having two double bonds which are activated so that they will take part in a polymerization reaction, the double bonds being sufficiently close together to ensure that cyclopolymerization will preferentially occur. These compounds are used as monomers which preferentially are cyclopolymerized under the influence of ultraviolet or thermal radiation in the production of network polymers, for example coatings or binders.

The polymer is derived from a monomer of formula Ia, where R6 is a bridging group of valency r, and r is an integer of 3 or greater to provide a cross linked polymer, and all diallyl nitrogen atoms are linked to at least two further diallyl nitrogen atoms.

摘要: An adhesive or sealant composition comprising a compound of formula (I) provided that at least one of (a) R1 and R6 or (b) R2 and R3 or (c) R4 and R5 includes an electron withdrawing group; and where necessary, a polymerisation initiator. Novel compounds of formula (I) are also described and claimed. Adhesive compositions can be used to bond for example glass and metal surfaces. Certain biocompatible adhesives for medical applications are included.

摘要: Methods, based on the Wittig-Horner reaction, are provided for the synthesis of compounds of formula (I) where m is from 5-150, X and Y are independently selected from: CN, H, OH, COCH3, CO2H, CO2H, CO2R1, where R1 is C1-12 alkyl, NCS, SCN, CF3, CH2X where X is F, Cl, Br, OH, CHF2 and formula (IB), where J for each X and Y group is independently selected from: CH2, single covalent bond, OOC, CO2, O, CH2O, OCH2, CH2CO2, CH2OOC; p=1-20; L for each X and Y group is independently selected from: O, CH2OCO, CO2, S, NH; (a) is defined by formula (IC), where rings A, B and C are independently selected from phenyl, cyclohexyl, pyridine and pyrimidine and may be independently of each other substituted with at least one of Cl or F; linking groups A and B may be selected from single bond, CO2, OOC, CH2O, OCH2, CH2CH2, C≡C; Z is selected from CN, F, Cl, NO2, R, OR, CO2R, CF3, OOCR, NCS, SCN, where R=straight chain or branched chain alkyl and may include from 1-16 carbon atoms and including where one or more non-adjacent CH2 groups may be substituted by CH(CN), CH(CF3), CH(Cl), CH(CH3) in chiral or non-chiral form; provided that at least one of X and Y is selected from (IB); the method polymerizing a compound of general formula (II), where X and Y are defined as formula (I).

摘要: A method for producing a polymeric material, said method comprising subjecting a starting material which includes two multiple bonds which are activated so that they will take part in a polymerisation reaction and wherein the multiple bonds are sufficiently close togeter to ensure that cyclopolymerisation will preferentially occur; to suitable conditions under which said polymerisation reaction will occur, provided that the starting marerial is other than triallyamine hydrochloride. The method can be used to produce polymers for various processes including adhesives, network polymers, liquid crystal polymers etc.
