摘要： A disk cartridge capable of smoothly opening/closing a head opening without enlarging a second shutter. In a disk cartridge, a disc-shaped disk medium is rotatably housed in a disk housing portion of a case, and a head opening through which a head of a drive device accesses a recording face is formed in the bottom plate of the case. The head opening is closed when an end of a first shutter, which is rotatable coaxially with the disk medium and an end of a second shutter swingable around an axis different from that of the first shutter come into contact with each other. Each of the contact ends of the first and second shutters includes an arc portion having the axis of turn of the second shutter as a center.

摘要： A recording disk cartridge is provided which includes a plurality of flexible recording disk media stacked inside a cartridge case so as to rotate integrally. The cartridge case includes a lower plate for constructing a lower wall parallel to the plurality of recording disk media, a plurality of inner plates which are stacked and fixed on the lower plate and partition the plurality of recording disk media, and an upper plate which is stacked and fixed on the plurality of inner plates and constructs an upper wall of the cartridge case. An opening is formed in a part of a side wall constructed of the lower plate, the plurality of inner plates, and the upper plate. The recording disk cartridge further includes a lower rotor and an upper rotor supported on inner sides of the lower plate and the upper plate respectively so as to rotate, and a shutter plate having a height corresponding to a height of the stacked recording disk media. The shutter plate is engaged with the upper rotor and the lower rotor so as to open and close the opening.

摘要： A shutter opening/closing member of a drive device, which slides a shutter and opens and closes a window portion, does not interfere with a recording/playback head. A shutter operation portion extends, in a sliding direction of the shutter, from a main body portion of the shutter which moves at a region of the window portion. When a disk cartridge is inserted into the drive device, a shutter opening/closing pin member of the drive device operates the shutter operation portion and makes the shutter slide. Both when the shutter has closed the window portion and when the shutter has opened the window portion, the shutter operation portion is positioned outside of the region of the window portion. Thus, the shutter opening/closing pin does not encroach on the region of the window portion, and does not interfere with the recording/playback head.

摘要： A magnetic disc cartridge includes a larger capacity magnetic disc with a center core fixed to its center. The magnetic disc is contained for rotation in a casing which is provided with a spindle hole through which a spindle of the disc drive system is inserted into the casing. The center core is provided with a collar portion on which the magnetic disc is fixed and an abutment surface which is parallel to the collar portion and is adapted to be held against a pedestal surface on the spindle of the disc drive system under magnetic attraction. A center hole is formed in the abutment surface substantially at the center thereof and a drive pin hole is formed in the abutment surface radially outwardly spaced from the center hole. An annular protrusion is formed on the inner surface of the casing so as to project toward the center core inside the collar portion to limit radial movement of the center core. A contact member is formed around the annular protrusion to project toward the center core so that the contact member is held away from the collar portion when the center core is rotated with the magnetic disc held horizontally and is brought into contact with the collar portion when the center core is rotated with the magnetic disc held inclined.

The structure reduces the weight of the cassette shell and enhances its productivity and quality.
