Abstract:
A single stage process for desulfurization and ring opening of a sulphur containing hydrocarbon feedstock comprising: contacting said feedstock with hydrogen and a catalyst at a pressure of less than 100 bars wherein said catalyst comprises (I) a combination of molecular sieves consisting of at least one zeolite which has a faujasite structure and at least one fibrous zeolite which comprises essentially non-crossing one-dimensional channels and (II) a composition comprising at least one metal selected from group VIB of the periodic table and at least one metal from group VIII.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a catalyst composition for the reaction of hydrocarbons comprising a zeolite with has a faujasite structure and a fibrous zeolite which comprises essentially non-crossing one-dimensional channels. Further, the catalyst composition comprises in a preferred embodiment a metal component selected from metals of the group VIB and VIII of the periodic table of elements and their compounds. The invention relates further to a process for the synthesis of such a catalyst composition and to a process for hydrocracking hydrocarbon feedstocks by using said catalyst composition.
Abstract:
A process for removing essentially naphthenic acids from a crude oil which has not previously been fractionated by distillation, or from which only a naphtha fraction has been distilled. The crude oil is hydrogenated at 1-50 bars and 100-300.degree. C. over a catalyst of the kind used for hydrogenation of atmospheric residue oils. As a catalyst, especially Ni--Mo or Ni--Co deposited on alumina as a carrier material is used.
Abstract:
A method for isolation and quantification of naphthenate forming acids (ARN-acids) in crude oils is disclosed. The method involves selective absorbtion/adsorption of ARN acids by a solid medium. Isolation of the solid medium and transferring the ARN acids to an organic solvent which can by analysed for its ARN acid content.
