摘要: A pressure-sensing hose assembly and method of its use are disclosed. In an example aspect, the pressure sensing hose assembly includes a hose assembly including a hose having first and second conductive layers and a circuit electrically connected to the first and second conductive layers of the hose assembly. The circuit generates an electrical response across the first and second conductive layers of the hose assembly. The pressure-sensing hose assembly further includes a computing system configured to receive the electrical response and estimate a pressure within the hose assembly based on the electrical response.

摘要: A wireless communication network includes a plurality of wireless devices and a reconfigurable wireless control or monitoring device structured to wirelessly communicate with the wireless devices. The wireless control or monitoring device includes a wireless transceiver, a user output device, a user input device, and a processor cooperating with the wireless transceiver, the user output device and the user input device. The processor includes a routine structured to output first information from the wireless devices to the user output device, or to input second information from the user input device to the wireless devices. The routine is further structured to employ an XML schema to define the first information output from the wireless devices to the user output device, or to define the second information input from the user input device to the wireless devices.

摘要: A wireless communication system includes a wireless master node having a plurality of channels, and a number of wireless slave nodes having a plurality of the channels. The master node and the slave nodes are structured to wirelessly communicate over a particular channel. The master node and the slave nodes are structured to decide to hop to a different channel. The master node and the slave nodes are structured to select: (a) the different channel, in order to be as far away as possible from a number of the channels, which are known to cause interference to wireless communications between the master node and the slave nodes, or (b) the different channel, in order to be as close as possible to one of the channels of a different master node, which is compatible with the former master node, but without the different channel being employed by the different master node.

摘要: A sensor node or a control device node is for a home system including a server and a fob. The node includes a household object, and a sensor, control or display device embedded in or substantially within the household object. The sensor, control or display device includes a first wireless port adapted to wirelessly communicate with the server, a second port adapted to communicate with the fob when the fob is proximate to the second port, and a processor operatively associated with the first wireless port and the second port. The processor is adapted to receive proximity information from the second port and responsively communicate with the server through the first wireless port, in order to configure the sensor, control or display device.

摘要: A system for pairing wireless nodes includes a plurality of device nodes, such as lamp nodes, a plurality of sensor nodes, such as light switch nodes, and a context manager node. Each of the device nodes, the sensor nodes and the context manager node includes a first communication channel having radio frequency signals and a diverse second communication channel including wireless non-radio frequency signals. Some of the device nodes and the sensor nodes are adapted to collect context information of a corresponding communication environment and to transfer the collected context information to the context manager node. The context manager node is adapted to employ the collected context information and enable automated distributed pairing of a first node of the device nodes and sensor nodes with another second node of the device nodes and sensor nodes.

摘要: A system for assessing wireless communication performance includes a first master wireless node and a number of second wireless nodes. A first schedule of the first node defines transmission and reception of a first set of test packets. A second schedule of the second nodes defines transmission and reception of a second set of the test packets. After start up, each of the second nodes is initialized, and waits to receive a number of the second set of test packets before being synchronized with the second schedule and beginning to receive and transmit the second set of test packets according to the second schedule. First and second processors store data from the first and second sets of test packets, respectively.

摘要: A system includes first and second wireless nodes having a clock with plural times, a wireless transceiver, and a processor cooperating with the transceiver to transmit and receive packets. The second node transceivers wirelessly communicate with the first or other second node transceivers. The second nodes include a Kalman filter with an output, plural filter gains, and an input representing the difference between: about the time of the clock when a received packet should have ideally been received, and a time when the received packet was actually received as measured by the clock. A circuit provides dynamic adjustment of the filter gains. The Kalman filter output estimates the difference between the time of the receiving node clock and a corresponding one of the times of the transmitting node clock. The second processor cooperates with the Kalman filter output to adjust the times of the receiving node clock.
