    摘要： The invention is a bare floor cleaning appliance provided with a foot pedal for raising and lowering the suction nozzle while simultaneously energizing and de-energizing the independent drive motor powering a horizontal axis rotary agitator. The foot pedal is depressed once to lower the suction nozzle to a position closest to the floor surface and the horizontal rotary agitator is energized to clean the floor surface. Suction from the motor-fan assembly is used to pick up dirt and used cleaning solution. The foot pedal is depressed one more time to raise the suction nozzle from the floor surface and de-energize the horizontal rotary agitator. In this mode, suction from the motor-fan assembly is used to pick up dry objects including dirt. The foot pedal operates the switch for energizing and de-energizing the independent electric motor by rotating a mode indicator operably connected to the foot pedal. Depressing the foot pedal once rotates the mode indicator to a first position which toggles the switch from the off position to the on position. When rotated into this position, an first indicating portion on the mode indicator is rotated underneath a first viewing window formed in the hood of the cleaner foot. Depressing the foot pedal another time rotates the mode indicator to a second position which toggles the switch from the on position to the off position. A second indicating portion on the mode indicator rotates underneath a second viewing window formed in the hood of the foot. At the same time the first indicating portion is rotated out of sight of the first viewing window.

    摘要： A vacuum cleaner conversion arrangement is disclosed which, particularly, may be advantageously applied to a dirt cup cleaner. In this application, the conversion hose confluently communicates with the dirt cup when the cleaner is in converted condition so that suction air flows from the dirt cup to the motor-fan system of the vacuum cleaner in either of its floor or hose modes of operation. The conversion arrangement generally includes a conversion adapter having a closure means for sealing off its conversion hose and stanchions for conveniently mounting the ends of the same hose when it is not in use. The closure means may take the form of an outer door or an internal flapper valve plate.

    摘要： A gravity feed liquid cleaning solution supply system particularly suitable for use on an upright hot water carpet extractor having a free floating brush assembly is disclosed. The unique system generally comprises a stationary fluid supply manifold positioned above a free floating brush assembly having multiple laterally disposed rotary brushes rotatable about vertical axle shafts suspended from a laterally disposed brush support beam. The support beam includes open top troughs, one above each individual brush, into which liquid cleaning solution cascades from the overhead manifold. From each fluid trough, the cleaning solution is conveyed to the center cup of an associated rotary brush through a conduit integrally molded into the brush support beam. By this unique structure liquid cleaning solution is supplied to the free floating brush assembly without restricting the floating movement of the scrubbing brushes over the surface being cleaned.
