Abstract:
Shaft bearing assembly of a machine tool having a shaft that bends under the weight of components mounted thereon and that is both rotatable and longitudinally slidable in a bearing includes a bearing of given length through which the shaft extends, and a diametrically extending bulge on the shaft, the bulge having a surface engaging the bearing and being slidably displaceable with the shaft over a maximum longitudinally extending distance shorter than the given length of the bearing.
Abstract:
In apparatus for advancing a knitted fabric or other stretchable web material, preferably toward a length-measuring device, a feed roller is drivingly engageable with the material and there are material guide means so arranged as to cause the travelling material to form a shallow sagging portion. The feed roller is driven by speed-controllable drive means whose speed control is subject to response of a proximity sensor disposed near to but out of contact with the sagging portion of material and responsive to at least one of given lower and upper limits of sag respectively. The speed control operates intermittently to vary the speed of the feed roller between leading and lagging speed magnitudes for substantially tension-free advance of the material.
Abstract:
In a machine tool having a machine frame and a tool turret rotatably mounted therein, there is provided an index pin for bracing and orienting the tool turret. The index pin is extensible between an arm of the tool turret and a part of the machine frame for holding the tool turret against rotary motion relative to the machine frame, and includes a core member and a cylindrical member disposed around and coaxial to the core member at a spaced distance therefrom, the cylindrical member being firmly secured to a free end of the core member.
Abstract:
Continuously adjustable transmission assembly for directly transforming a force, hydraulically or pneumatically transmitted through a pressure medium, into rotary motion of a shaft, including at least two rotary piston motors operatively connected to the rotary shaft and actuable by the pressure medium for alternately driving the shaft, the rotary piston motors each including a rotor and a stator, both of the rotors being coupled to the rotary shaft and thereby to one another, and stepwise acting auxiliary transmission means coupling each of the rotors to its respective stator so that the respective stator is stationary during a work cycle of the respective rotor, and rotates faster than the rotor during an idling cycle of the rotor so as to overtake the rotor.
Abstract:
DEVICE FOR REGULATING A CAM-CONTROLLED MACHINE TOOL INCLUDES MEASURED VALUE TRANSMITTER MEANS CONNECTED TO NOMINAL VALUE POTENTIOMETER MEANS FOR TRANSMITTING A SIGNAL TO THE LATTER IN ACCORDANCE WITH A MEASURED MACHINING DIMENSION OF A CONTROL WORKPIECE FOR AUTOMATICALLY PREADJUSTING THE NOMINAL VALUE POTENTIOMETER MEANS TO FIX THE END POSITION OF THE MULTITOOL-CARRYING TURRET OF THE MACHINE TOOL, SO THAT SERVOMOTOR MEANS OPERATIVELY CONNECTED TO THE NOMINAL VALUE POTENTIOMETER MEANS AND TO ACTUAL VALUE POTENTIOMETER MEANS WHICH SENSE THE ACTUAL AXIAL POSITION OF A TERMINAL SWITCH RELATIVE TO A CONTROL DRUM CONNECTED TO THE TURRET, ARE AUTOMATICALLY ACTUABLE IN RESPONSE TO A DIFFERENCE OF THE NOMINAL AND ACTUAL VALUES FOR RELATIVELY DISPLACING THE TERMINAL SWITCH AND CONTROL DRUM TO ADJUSTABLY DISPLACE THE TURRET AXIALLY TO ITS END POSITION.
Abstract:
Single spindle rotary machine tool includes a spindle stock a workpiece spindle drivingly mounted in the spindle stock, and having a fixed axis, the workpiece spindle having a head, a workpiece chuck seated on said spindle head, the workpiece chuck, in operating position thereof on the spindle head, having an axis rectilinearly aligned with the fixed axis of the workpiece spindle, a tool turret shaft mounted in the spindle stock below and parallel to the workpiece spindle, a rotary disc spaced from the workpiece spindle on the spindle stock and revolvable about an axis extending parallel to the axis of the workpiece spindle at least two workpiece chucks releasably installable at given locations of the rotary disc, and sliding carriage means for transporting the workpiece chucks respectively between the rotary disc and the workpiece spindle, the rotary disc and the sliding carriage means being cooperatively associated with one another for automatically exchanging one of the workpiece chucks with another of the workpiece chucks at the operating position thereof on the spindle head.
Abstract:
Method of regulating a cam-controlled machine tool, especially a turret lathe with a working spindle for a workpiece and a turret adjustable to various angular settings and in the longitudinal direction thereof, which includes effecting an adjustment of the axial end portion of the turret that is superimposed on the regulating movement.
