摘要: An information signal to be fed to an information electrode group is formed of a selection pulse having a pulse width .DELTA.T, a first auxiliary pulse having a polarity opposite to that of the selection pulse and having the same width as that of the selection pulse before the selection pulse, a second auxiliary pulse having a polarity opposite to that of the selection pulse and having the pulse width of one third or less of the pulse width .DELTA.T after the selection pulse, and a third auxiliary pulse having the same polarity as that of the selection pulse and having the pulse width of one third or less of the pulse width .DELTA.T before the first auxiliary pulse. Thus, a driving margin is secured, and a flicker phenomenon is reduced.

摘要: The waveforms of driving signals used for driving a display device which comprises a smectic liquid crystal and matrix electrodes including scanning electrode groups and information electrode groups are changed according to the ambient temperature in order to provide a satisfactory display in a wide range of temperatures. These types of the driving signals suppress unexpected inversion of the liquid crystal molecules at a low temperature and provide fast scanning at a high temperature.

摘要: A liquid crystal device is constituted by an electrode matrix including scanning electrodes and data electrodes intersecting the scanning electrodes, and a liquid crystal disposed to form a pixel at each intersection of the data electrodes and the scanning electrodes. The liquid crystal device is driven by sequentially applying a scanning selection signal to the scanning electrodes, and in synchronism with the scanning selection signal, applying data signals to the data electrodes, each data signal comprising a selection pulse of a first polarity having a pulse width .DELTA.T for determining a display state of a pixel and pulses of a second polarity disposed before and after the selection pulse, wherein the data signals are applied successively with a pause period shorter than .DELTA.T, preferably about .DELTA.T/2, between succeeding two data signals.

摘要: A liquid crystal display apparatus for presenting a high-quality image at a reduced power consumption comprises a liquid crystal display panel having scanning-signal electrodes and information-signal electrodes arranged in a matrix configuration, liquid crystals interposed between the scanning-signal electrodes and the information-signal electrodes, information electrode driving means for applying an information-signal voltage waveform to the information-signal electrodes, and scanning electrode driving means for applying a scanning-signal voltage waveform to the scanning-signal electrodes. The frequency of information-signal voltage waveform is lowered without changing the frame frequency of the apparatus by allowing two lines of scanning-signal electrodes to scan during a write pulse having a pulse length of .DELTA.T within one scanning period to select presentations of two pixels for each information-signal electrode.

摘要: A liquid discharging head cartridge that prevents a discharging head from being damaged due to exposure to liquid held in a liquid container during storage including the distribution period of a liquid discharging head cartridge, and ensures the reliability of the liquid discharging operation by the discharging head. An ink jet head cartridge includes an ink blocking member that is provided in the middle of an ink flow path and blocks ink supply to a recording head. The ink held in an ink container does not enter a section of the ink flow path between the ink blocking member and the recording head due to blockage by the ink blocking member.
