    摘要: A lightweight radio/CD player for vehicular application is virtually “fastenerless” and includes a fold-up case formed of polymer based material that is molded to provide details to accept audio devices such as playback mechanisms (if desired) and radio receivers, as well as the circuit boards required for electrical control and display. The case is of composite structure, including an insert molded electrically conductive wire mesh screen that has been pre-formed to contour with the molding operation. The wire mesh provides EMC, RFI, BCI and ESD shielding and grounding of the circuit boards via exposed wire mesh pads and adjacent ground clips. Side wall closure members are extruded of aluminum defining self-engaging attachment features for affixing to the case, providing electrical self-grounding with the wire screen and thermal grounding with internal power devices. The major components and subassemblies are self-fixturing during the final assembly process, eliminating the need for dedicated tools, fixtures and assembly equipment. The major components and subassemblies self-interconnect by integral guide and connection features effecting “slide lock” and “snap lock” self-interconnection.

    摘要: A personal mobility vehicle includes an base unit having a frame and front and rear pivot arms pivotally mounted at respective front and rear pivot points. The front and rear pivot arms support casters. A drive unit having a ground engaging mid-wheel drive wheel is connected to the frame. A linkage connects the front and rear pivot arms to each other in a manner such that an upward or downward rotation of one of the pivot arms about its pivot point causes rotation of the other pivot arm about its pivot point in an opposite rotational direction. The base unit may also include a drive unit that is pivotally supported on the base unit by a torque arm and a suspension system that includes a suspension stop. The torque arm selectively disengages the suspension stop to allow movement of the front caster wheel in response to the terrain traversed.

    摘要: The entomopathogenic fungus Paecilomyces fumosoroseus and certain related species, such as P. javanicus are useful for controlling infestations by subterranean termites, particularly those belonging to the family Rhinotermitidae. The family Rhinotermitidae includes two species of subterranean termites having extremely high economic importance in the United States; namely the Formosan subterranean termite (Coptotermes formosanus Shiraki), and the native (North American) subterranean termite (Reticulitermes flavipes). Large numbers of infectious propagules of the fungus, such as blastospores and conidia can be readily cultured on media that are easily and inexpensively prepared and incorporated into formulations for controlling termites. These fungi are useful for protecting living trees, plants, wood, wood structures, and other cellulosic materials susceptible to termite infestation and damage.

    摘要: This container holder is a vertical structure with its lower extremity fixedly attachable to a sink drain opening, and its upper extremity capable of receiving and clamping the container whose lid is to be manipulated. At the holder bottom, parallel connected fixed and pivoting partial cylindrical sections are placed in the sink drain opening. The user rotates a cam lever to swing out the pivoting section until the holder is firmly fixed in the sink drain. The top of the holder has a platform on which the container is placed. A screw mechanism actuated by a crank handle converges two clamping jaws around the container to fix it in place. Advantages include use of minimum force for both sink attachment and container clamping, and normal sink function with the holder in place. The holder can be made of lightweight materials, is easily cleaned and rapidly deployed.

    摘要: An enclosure for electronic instrument panel circuitry including a circuit board, a front housing with rear lower and upper locking flanges, and a two part case, preferably articulated at the rear for clamshell operation. The case has flanges on each part for interlocking with the housing, without separate fasteners. The circuit board is located in the case and connected to the housing before the case is closed. Support members molded in the case hold the circuit board in place and a single screw further secures the circuit board. A second circuit board on the rear of the housing is trapped by its margin between the housing and case, and held without screws.
