    摘要: Low creep polypropylene textiles are disclosed which comprise a blend of isotactic polypropylene with 10-30 weight percent of a resin obtained by hydrogenating polymerized olefinically unsaturated monomers derived from petroleum cracking, e.g., polydicyclopentadiene. The hydrocarbon resin has a weight average molecular weight of from 500 to 1000 and a glass transition temperature of from 40.degree. C. to 90.degree. C. The blend exhibits creep resistance at ambient temperatures and has a glass transition temperature greater than 20.degree. C. The textile blend is useful in carpet, drapery and other applications wherein creep resistance and resiliency are desirable.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to a cling packaging film for use in wrapping food products, particularly fresh meat and produce. The film comprises a core layer containing a copolymer of ethylene and an ethylenically unsaturated polar comonomer together with an elastomeric polymer. The film further comprises a skin layer containing linear low density polyethylene. Both the core and skin layers may contain additional components. A film in accord with the present invention compares favorably with PVC food wrap film and is intended to provide a replacement therefor.

    摘要: A thermoplastic film is provided which is especially suited for use in stretch/cling applications such as, for example, the bundling, packaging and unitizing of foods and other goods. The film comprises a cling layer comprising a polymer of at least ethylene and 2-40 wt % acrylate having a ratio of M.sub.w /M.sub.n less than about 3.5, a ratio of M.sub.z /M.sub.w less than about 3, a melt index of about 0.1-30 dg/min, and a melt index swell ratio less than about 1.6, preferably without a tackifying additive. The film may further comprise a non-cling layer comprising a thermoplastic preferably essentially free of anticling (slip and/or antiblock) additive. Preferred thermoplastic materials include polyethylene and polypropylene.

    摘要: A polymer composition comprises (a) greater than 50 wt % (based upon the weight of the composition) of a cyclic olefin copolymer comprising at least one acyclic olefin and at least 20 weight % of one or more cyclic olefins (based upon the weight of the cyclic olefin copolymer), wherein at least a portion of the cyclic olefin copolymer has a glass transition temperature of greater than 150° C.; and (b) less than 50 wt % (based upon the weight of the composition) of an acyclic olefin polymer modifier, at least a portion of the modifier having a glass transition temperature of less than −30° C.; and no portion of the modifier having a softening point greater than +30° C., wherein the Bicerano solubility parameter of the modifier being no more than 0.6 J0.5/cm1.5 less than the Bicerano solubility parameter of the cyclic olefin copolymer. The polymer composition has a notched Izod impact resistance measured at 23° C. of greater than 500 J/m and a heat distortion temperature measured using a 0.46 MPa load of greater than 135° C.
