    摘要: A process for producing silicon steel strip of less than 0.30 mm thickness having cube-on-edge orientation, which comprises heating a silicon steel slab to 1300.degree.-1400.degree. C., hot rolling to hot band thickness, removing hot mill scale, cold rolling to intermediate thickness without annealing the hot rolled band, subjecting the intermediate thickness cold rolled material to an intermediate anneal at a temperature of 1010.degree. to about 1100.degree. C. with a total time of heating and soaking of less than about 180 seconds, cold rolling to a final thickness of less than 0.30 mm, decarburizing, applying an annealing separator, and finally annealing in conventional manner.

    摘要: A process for the production of cube-on-edge oriented silicon steel of high permeability which comprises varying the temperature of the initial anneal and the quench starting temperature of the hot rolled steel in accordance with the aluminum and nitrogen contents of the steel. The initial anneal temperature ranges from about 1040.degree. to 1175.degree. C. and the quench starting temperature from about 700.degree. to 1090.degree. C. Improved permeability and core loss values are obtained over relatively broad aluminum and nitrogen ranges, viz., 0.024% to 0.040% total aluminum and 0.0050% to 0.0090% nitrogen, by ladle analysis.

    摘要: A process for producing grain oriented silicon iron from strand cast slabs having uniformly high permeability and low core loss, comprising the steps of melting and refining a ferrous charge to obtain a melt containing critical ranges of carbon, manganese, sulfur and/or selenium and critically low levels of nitrogen, aluminum, and titanium, casting to a slab thickness of about 125 to about 225 mm, reheating the slabs to about 1330.degree. to about 1400.degree. C., hot rolling, annealing at about 925.degree. to about 1050.degree. C., cold rolling in two stages with an intermediate anneal to final thickness, decarburizing, and subjecting the material to a final anneal in a hydrogen-containing reducing atmosphere to effect secondary recrystallization.
