摘要: A full color three electrode surface discharge type plasma display device that has fine image elements and is large and has a bright display. The three primary color luminescent areas are arranged in the extending direction of the display electrode pairs in a successive manner and an image element is composed by the three unit luminescent areas defined by these three luminescent areas and address electrodes intersecting these three luminescent areas. Further, phosphors are coated not only on a substrate but also on the side walls of the barriers and on address electrodes. The manufacturing processes and operation methods of the above constructions are also disclosed.

摘要: An AC memory driving type self-shift type gas discharge panel prevents accidental abnormal discharges caused by deviated abnormal charges. Abnormal charges are significantly accumulated at both ends of a shift channel consisting of a regular arrangement of a write discharge cell and shift discharge cells. Therefore, conductive layers are provided adjacent to at least both ends of the shift channel in order to dissipate the abormal charges.

摘要: A surface discharge type plasma display panel(PDP) includes a pair of front and rear substrates (11, 21) with a discharge space (30) therebetween and a plurality of pair display electrodes on internal surface of either the front or rear substrate. The display electrodes are extending along each display line L. The PDP further includes a light shielding film (45), having a belt shape extending along the display line direction, formed on either internal or outer surface of the front substrate (11) to overlap each area S2 between the adjacent display lines L and sandwiched between the display electrodes X and Y.

摘要: A matrix display panel of first and second substrates having respective main surfaces in parallel and opposed relationship has parallel address electrodes and respective continuous phosphor stripes arranged within corresponding elongated cavities on the main surface of the first substrate, extending in a first direction. Display electrodes on the main surface of the second substrate extend in a second, transverse direction and cross the address electrodes and respective phosphor stripes, each display electrode defining a display line of pixels. A driving system drives the panel in accordance with color image data defining successive color images to be displayed in respective, successive image frames, the color image data of each frame defining respective relative brightness gradation levels and comprising a plurality of subframes wherein lines are concurrently activated in each subframe and each subframe includes an addressing period for addressing a pixel by selectively applying a write pulse to each selected one of the pixels, the write pulse forming a memory medium in a selected one of all the pixels, a display period for lighting said addressed pixel by a concurrent application of sustain pulses to all the pixels, each subframe being allocated with a predetermined number of the sustain pulses so as to weight a gradation to said respective subframe, wherein a gradation of visual brightness of the lit pixel is determined by selectively operating the subframe for each of the pixels for each frame.
