摘要: An adhesive stack comprises a shear layer positioned between two adhesive layers. The shear layer, comprised of a weak adhesive sub-layer positioned between substrate sub-layers, is designed to fail upon application of a deliberate and appropriate shear force and before the failure of the adhesive layers. The adhesive sub-layer defines a width and/or length less than a width and/or length of another layer or sub-layer of the adhesive stack. The adhesive stack aids in securing components within an electronic device to prevent movement of the component when the device is dropped, hit, or bumped. The adhesive stack may occupy minimal space within the device, and reduce the cost of securing the component within the device's interior. The adhesive stack may allow for replacement of the component by an authorized person applying an appropriate and deliberate force. The adhesive stack may aid in identifying components replaced by an unauthorized person.

摘要: A portable computing device can include one or more speakers integrated with internal components. In one embodiment, the speakers can be configured to produce audio output signals and direct at least a portion of the audio signals through vents disposed on a base portion of the portable computing device. In one embodiment, the vents can also direct cooling air into the base portion. In one embodiment, the speakers can also be configured to direct a portion of the audio signal through a speaker grille disposed on the base portion. One embodiment of a speaker enclosure can include a resonant cavity for a first audio transducer formed by the speaker enclosure in cooperation with the base portion of the portable computing device and a second audio transducer configured to direct an audio signal beneath a keyboard.

摘要: A low profile highly accessible computer enclosure with a processor plenum for cooling high power processors is disclosed. The enclosure includes one or more air movement devices that discharge air into a plenum. The plenum channels the air to a location proximate to one or more high power processors where it is discharged over the processors. The velocity of the air is sufficient to achieve a convection coefficient that will cool the high power processors. The enclosure can also be slidably mounted in a computer rack and include a multi-section top cover. While the computer is operating, an operator can access, inspect, service, repair, or replace components within server by sliding the server out of the front and/or rear of the computer rack and then removing one or more of the cover sections.

摘要: A portable computing device can include one or more clutch assemblies that can include a conductive elastomer configured to contact at least a portion of the clutch assembly of the portable computing device. The conductive elastomer can be configured to also contact at least one region of the base portion of the portable computing device. In one embodiment, the conductive elastomer can be disposed on the clutch assembly. The conductive elastomer can enhance an electrical coupling between two or more regions of the base portion, especially in the region near the conductive elastomer and the clutch assembly. The enhanced coupling can increase a performance of an electrical shield provided by the two or more regions of the base portion.
