The invention relates to a method for preparing a beverage through a capsule (2) inserted in a beverage machine; the capsule (2) comprising an enclosure (20) containing one or more beverage ingredients, wherein a brewing fluid is introduced in the enclosure (20) to brew said one or more beverage ingredients, characterized in that: a discharge wall (3, 3B, 300, 310, 320, 330) is placed in association with the enclosure (20), wherein the discharge wall (3, 300, 310, 320, 330) comprises discharge means (100, 301, 311, 321, 331) which restrain the brewed liquid from being discharged from the capsule (2) or limit the liquid flow in case the pressure inside the enclosure (20) is below a predetermined value, and the discharge means (100, 301, 311, 321, 331) enable the delivery of the brewed liquid in case the pressure exceeds said predetermined value.

The invention concerns a beverage production system comprising a capsule (1) and a module (2) for producing a beverage from the capsule, the capsule (1) comprising an enclosure (1a) and a rim (1b), and the module (2) comprising: a first capsule engagement member (3), which can be displaced relative to a second, co-operating capsule engagement member (4) between a capsule discharge position and a beverage production position, the displaceable first capsule engagement member (3) comprising member (13) having the shape of a hollow bell, and the capsule (1) presenting an enclosure outer shape that is conformal to at least a portion of the hollow bell shaped member (13) and the capsule presenting a rim (1b) size such that at least a part of the rim of the capsule extends beyond at least a part of the first capsule engagement member (3) once it is engaged in the first capsule engagement member, wherein the displaceable first capsule engagement member (3) comprises retaining means able to create friction with discrete parts of the outer shape of the enclosure (1a) of the capsule, and wherein the module (2) comprises means for engaging the rim (1b) of the capsule extending beyond the first capsule engagement member when the first capsule engagement member (3) is displaced from the beverage production position to its opened capsule-insertion position.

Apparatus for preparing beverages comprising a module (10) for distributing a beverage by supplying a pressurized liquid, a liquid supply tank (7), gas supply means (65) configured to supply the module with pressurized liquid, a liquid feed chamber (80), the said chamber being arranged, in a filling configuration, to communicate with the tank (7) in order to be filled with liquid and the said chamber being arranged, in a module supply configuration, to communicate with the gas supply means in order to pressurize the liquid in the chamber and to distribute a quantity of liquid under a certain pressure through the module. Preferably, the chamber (80) is bounded by at least one elastic wall (85), separating the gas from the liquid in a sealed manner and, configured to deform elastically and thereby reduce the internal volume of the chamber under the effect of the gas thrust against this wall. The invention applies, for example, to mobile or portable coffee or multi-beverage machines.

A beverage production device comprises a beverage production chamber designed to have a liquid interact with a beverage ingredient contained in a capsule, a liquid supply member for supplying liquid to the beverage production chamber, a heating member provided in the liquid supply member for heating the liquid, and an air separating compartment provided in the liquid supply member after the heating member for separating any air or other gas contained in the liquid. The air separating compartment comprises an inlet for introducing liquid into the air separating compartment, a member for breaking the kinetic energy of the liquid introduced through the inlet, a liquid outlet for evacuating liquid from the air separating compartment, and an air outlet for evacuating air from the air separating compartment.

The machine includes an extraction module for receiving a capsule, a heat insulated water reservoir for supplying the extraction module, a pump and an electrical power supply that includes a low voltage electrical accumulator configured to supply the pump. The reservoir has a heating device that includes an electrical element powered by the accumulator.
