摘要: A manhole guard, methods of assembling the same, and methods of using the same, are described. The manhole guard generally includes a plurality of sections connected for movement, the sections being capable of being locked into a fixed rigid structure through the use of a first arm and second arm that act independently of each other. The manhole guard can include attachable mounting brackets designed to facilitate the attachment of a hoist device and/or winch.

摘要: An electronic device for managing a health plan comprises an electronic display and a processor configured to maintain a meal plan to be displayed on the electronic display. The meal plan has a plurality of meals as guidance for a user to consume during a day. The processor is further configured to switch a meal of the plurality of meals with a specific meal offered by a specific entity. The specific meal can have substantially the same nutritional characteristics as the meal being switched out. A computer-readable medium including instructions stored thereon, that when executed by a processor may cause the processor to manage a meal database. A related method for managing a health management system is disclosed that includes switching the meal from the meal plan with a specific meal from the one or more specific meals.

摘要: Fastener delivery apparatus for automatically selecting and delivering fasteners such as rivets to a setting tool. The fasteners are pre-loaded in a package and dispense via at least one fastener delivery tube that interconnects the setting tool to a fastener feeder device. The fastener feeder device releases selected fasteners from the package into the delivery tube. The fasteners are transportable individually or in groups in the tube from the feeder device to the tool. A transfer station attached to the tool or the delivery tube transfers a fastener from the delivery apparatus into the tool, transfer station is adjacent to the tool so that a delivered fastener may be inserted by the transfer station into the tool and a second position in which it is clear of the tool so as to permit the tool or a portion thereof to move towards a workpiece to insert a smooth, rapid and reliable delivery of fasteners of various sizes and types to the nose of a setting tool in any particular order and provides all the fastener types for any particular work cycle.

摘要: A device for suppressing fires generated by lithium-ion batteries exhibiting thermal runaway. The device can include a thermally insulating enclosure for housing one or more battery cells. A fluid delivery system having a heat/temperature sensitive tube passes through each enclosure and contains an agent capable of extinguishing fires. When the cell or battery starts to undergo thermal runaway, the increase in temperature or the eruption of open flame causes the fluid delivery system to rupture inside the enclosure. The agent leaks out of the rupture and is transported into the enclosure and onto the malfunctioning cell or battery. Any fire is suppressed and the cell or battery is cooled down by the agent.

摘要: Fitting that is compatible with standard fittings is described. In one embodiment, the end of one of a matched set of fittings is provided with an elastomeric material. The elastomeric material deforms when the matched fittings are coupled, resulting in a reduced volume. In certain embodiments, a tube is provided through the tube which is attached at a proximal end and extends to the distal end of the elastomeric material. When the fitting are coupled the tube protrudes past the end of the elastomeric material and into the coupled fitting. In certain embodiments the fitting otherwise conforms to International Standard ISO 594.

摘要: A method for forming flexible temporary component-carrier tapes, which are used for storing, transporting and supplying components, includes forming apertures for receiving the components in a device-retaining layer, securing a top cover layer to a surface of the device-retaining layer, and securing a bottom layer to an opposite surface of the device-retaining layer. Weakened regions may be formed in one or more of the layers.

摘要: A pedicle screw coupling construct for a pedicle screw construct provides fixation of angular orientation thereof relative to a pedicle screw independent of fixation of a received spinal rod to the coupling construct. The pedicle screw construct forms one component or element in a spinal fixation system. The independent fixation coupling construct also provides for fixation of the angular orientation of the coupling construct while the coupling construct has received the spinal rod. In another form, a coupling head or construct is configured to allow a pedicle screw shaft to pass therethrough but retain the pedicle screw head for rotation of the coupling head about the pedicle screw head. The coupling head or construct is also configured to allow at least a 45° arc of pivot or articulation about a pedicle screw shaft relative to a longitudinal axis of a spinal rod received in the body. This allows the head with a received spinal rod to fold, bend or pivot relative to the pedicle screw shaft, particularly to a greater degree than the prior art.
