摘要: A stent-graft system comprising a graft member and a stent having a connection end interconnected with the graft member and a free end opposed thereto. The stent includes a plurality of struts extending between the connection end and the free end and at least two of the struts having different lengths such that the free end has a nonuniform profile. A method of securing at least one end of a stent-graft within a vessel is also provided.

摘要: A system and method of developing better-designed medical devices, particularly cardiovascular stents and endovascular grafts. The system comprises a geometry generator, a mesh generator, a stress/strain/deformation analyzer, and a visualization tool. Using analysis, preferably non-linear analysis, the stress/strain/deformation analyzer determines the predicted stresses, strains, and deformations on the candidate medical device. Such stresses, strains, and deformations may optionally be simulated visually using a visualization tool.

摘要: A catheter for delivery of an expandable intracorporeal device and method of using the catheter. The catheter may have an elongate shaft with a proximal section, distal section, proximal end and distal end. The distal section has a radially expandable shear barrier which is at least partially radially constrained by an outer radially constraining section. An expandable intracorporeal device, specifically an expandable endovascular graft, is disposed within an inner space within the radially expandable shear barrier. The catheter is guided to a desired site within a patient's body and the radial constraint of the outer radially constraining section is at least partially removed from the radially expandable shear barrier so as to allow the shear barrier and expandable intracorporeal device to expand and deploy. Typically, the radial constraint of the outer radially constraining section is carried out by relative axial movement between the outer radially constraining section and the radially expandable shear barrier.

摘要: A endovascular graft having at least two thin wall graft members, with at least one of the thin wall graft members configured to be deployed within a lumen of another thin wall graft member. The thin wall graft members may be coupled or connected to each other so as to allow relative axial displacement of the sections, or they may be separate members that have dimensions and a configuration to allow coaxial deployment within inner lumens of each other. By having multiple thin wall graft member, the graft may be built up within a patient's vasculature in steps through a delivery catheter system that is smaller in profile and more flexible than a delivery catheter system configured to deliver a single component graft. The graft of the invention may be delivered percutaneously or intraoperatively.
