    摘要: A method and system for automatically triggering call redirecting in response to a mobile device detecting its connection to a host such as a personal computer, is provided. In one embodiment, the mobile device detects connection by sensing application of a charging voltage via a Universal Serial Bus (USB) connection, and signaling the mobile device processor of the event. In response, the mobile device processor automatically decides to which alternative endpoint communications should be forwarded, and either instructs its transmitter to transmit a forwarding command to a network operations centre or instructs the host to transmit the command through the Internet. The network operations centre switch is operable to receive a call redirecting command respecting the mobile device from either the mobile device or the host to which the mobile device is connected, and adjusting its settings to effect call redirecting for subsequent communications for the mobile device.

    摘要: A system and method is provided for managing one or more docking applications running on a wireless device. The method displays to a user at least one docking application while the wireless device is coupled to another device. The method comprising the steps of: executing a docking application control module when the wireless device is first coupled with the other device; retrieving user preferences associated with the docking application control module; executing, based on the retrieved user preferences, at least one docking application for use on the wireless device while the wireless device remains coupled to the other device; and terminating the docking application when the wireless device ceases to be coupled to the other device.

    摘要: A mobile device stores a first command set for voicemail functions of a first voicemail system and a second command set for voicemail functions of a second voicemail system. The mobile device receives a voicemail notification message associated with a voicemail message received at one of the first or the second voicemail systems. The mobile device detects an end-user selection of a visual object which is visually indicative of a voicemail function. In response to the end-user selection, the mobile device selects, from one of the first and the second command sets corresponding to the first or the second voicemail system at which the voicemail message was received, a command code corresponding to the voicemail function. The mobile device sends the selected command code to the first or the second voicemail system for invoking the voicemail function at the first or the second voicemail system.

In some aspects, an authentication value is generated at a first mobile device based on a message and a shared secret value stored on the first mobile device. In response to detecting proximity of a second mobile device, the message and the authentication value are wirelessly transmitted from the first mobile device to the second mobile device. In some implementations, the message and the authentication value can be wirelessly transmitted by a proximity-activated wireless interface, such as, for example, a Near Field Communication (NFC) interface.

    摘要: A handheld wireless communication device includes features to send and receive text messages. The handheld wireless communication device is further equipped with a microprocessor configured to run software programs on the device such as text message management program. The text message management program displays a listing of a plurality of received text messages on a display screen and color differentiates at least a portion of the display-listed plurality of received text messages based upon a characteristic common to each received text message. The characteristic common to each display-listed received text message may be a host name that is included in an identification code for the respective text message's sender.
