The evaporated fuel controlling apparatus includes a canister adapted to absorb evaporated fuel generated from a fuel tank, a purge path adapted to connect the canister and an intake system of an engine to each other, and a purge controlling section adapted to control a flow rate of the evaporated fuel to be supplied from the canister to the intake system of the engine through the purge path.     摘要: A gas sensor 1 includes an outer cylinder 18, a metallic shell 3, and a sensor element 2. The metallic shell 3 is disposed inside the outer cylinder 18. A sealing material layer 32 is mainly made of glass and is disposed between the inner surface of the metallic shell 3 and the outer surface of the sensor element 2. A cushion layer 34 formed of a porous inorganic substance is disposed in contact with the end of the sealing material layer 32 on the front-end side with respect to the axial direction of the sensor element 2. A cushion layer 33 formed of talc glass is disposed in contact with the end of the sealing material layer 32 on the rear-end side with respect to the axial direction of the sensor element 2. A gas sensor according to the present invention is especially adapted for use in a motorcycle and includes a sensor element having lower susceptibility to mechanical shock or thermal stress induced by different rates of contraction between a sealing material layer and an adjacent component element as well as excellent durability.

    摘要: A detecting element is configured such that a second electrode is disposed on one side of a plate-like first electrode with a first solid electrolyte layer positioned therebetween and a third electrode is disposed on the other side of the first electrode with a second solid electrolyte layer positioned therebetween, thereby detecting migration of oxygen ions between the first electrode and the second electrode and migration of oxygen ions between the first electrode and the third electrode. Since the second electrode is disposed on one side of the plate-like first electrode with the first solid electrolyte layer positioned therebetween and the third electrode is disposed on the other side of the first electrode with the second solid electrolyte layer positioned therebetween, both planes of the detecting element functions as detecting planes and, to thus extend the directivity of detection in two directions. Since either the second electrode or the third electrode faces to the flow of exhaust gas, the inventive oxygen sensor can be brought in contact with exhaust gas earlier than a prior art oxygen sensor does. Accordingly, the response time of the inventive oxygen sensor becomes shorter than that of the prior art oxygen sensor.
