摘要： A technique is provided which appropriately processes data structured in a markup language.A view template operates using the data included in a document so as to provide a predetermined function. An indicating unit displays the view template available for the user. A reception unit receives an instruction from the user to insert the view template into the document. Upon the reception unit receiving an instruction to insert the view template, an editing unit inserts an element (tag) at a position in the document according to the insertion instruction, which allows the view template to be started up. Furthermore, the editing unit describes parameters etc., in the document, which are necessary for the operation of the view template.

摘要： A technique is provided for maintaining the security of the proper nouns included in a document.A document management system 21 includes: a document processing apparatus 100 which performs processing such as editing of a document, displaying of a document, etc.; and a document management server 23 which manages division and combining of the document thus created. The document processing apparatus 100 transmits an XML document thus created to the document management server 23, and requests the document management server 23 to store the document. The document management server 23 stores the XML document received from the document processing apparatus 100. In this stage, in a case that the XML document includes proper nouns, the proper nouns are stored in the form of a separate file. Upon reception of a request from the document processing apparatus 100 to acquire the XML document stored in the document management server 23, the document management server 23 certifies the user of the requesting document processing apparatus 100. Then, the document management server 23 combines the proper nouns with the XML document in an appropriate manner according to the certification level, and transmits the XML document thus combined to the document processing apparatus 100.

摘要： A technique is provided which appropriately processes data structured by a markup language.An acquisition unit acquires a document to be processed, a definition file associated with the document, a definition file which provides various kinds of tools for processing the document, etc. A launcher control unit displays the documents and tools thus acquired in the form of icons. Upon the user clicking the icon, the launcher control unit launches the document or tool that corresponds to the icon thus clicked. When a document is opened by a launcher according to an instruction from the launcher control unit, a layout control unit controls the layout of the display region for the document on a screen. When multiple documents are opened, a linkage control unit controls the linkage of data pieces among these documents. When the document includes data associated with time information, a time slider control unit displays a time slider which provides an interface function for allowing the user to set time information.

A search server analyzes web contents, extracts index information (e.g., time, geographical name, personal name, and business type), and registers the index information in an index information database. A time information search unit performs search using time as a key, a geographical name information search unit performs search using a geographical name as a key, a personal name information search unit performs search using a personal name as a key, a business type information search unit performs search using a business type as a key, and a topic information search unit performs search using a topic as a key. In order to perform narrowing down search while using these search engines integrally, a federated search unit provides a user interface to specify combined search conditions for the search engines.

摘要： A structured document file is created in an efficient manner. A document acquisition unit 3130 acquires the structured document file. A relationship information acquisition unit 3132 acquires relationship information defining the relationship between components included in the structured document file. A display rule retaining unit 3134 retains display rule information expressing a rule to display the structured document file in accordance with the relationship information. A display style determination unit 3124 refers to the relationship information and display rule information on the structured document file, and then determines a display style of the structured document file. A display unit 3122 displays the components included in the structured document file on a screen by means of graphics objects, respectively, in accordance with the display style that has been determined. The relationship between the components different from the tag structure in the structured document file can be defined in the relationship information.
