摘要: An apparatus includes a generator electrode, a discharge electrode that has an aperture, a dielectric structure between the generator electrode and the discharge electrode, and a charge spreading structure. The dielectric structure includes a charging region under the aperture. The charge spreading structure is on a surface of the charging region facing the aperture. 摘要: Systems and associated methods of printing using ink-jet technology and offset printing capabilities are provided. The method can comprise jetting an ink onto a printing blanket, where the ink comprises a carrier and a pigment colorant, and where the carrier substantially free of polymers. Additional steps include developing the ink to create a print image on the printing blanket; applying a layer of wetting fluid to a surface of a print medium, where the surface includes a coating comprising a polymer; heating the surface to a print-receptive temperature that is lower than the softening temperature of the polymer, causing softening of the polymer; and transferring the print image from the printing blanket to the surface.

摘要: An ink composition has controlled conductivity, and a digital printing system and a method of printing an ink employ an offset inkjet printing platform. The ink composition includes pigment particles dispersed in an oil-based dielectric carrier fluid with an oil-soluble dispersant. A concentration of dispersant is a fraction of a concentration of the pigment particles sufficient to render an electrical conductivity of the ink composition less than 100 pico Siemens per centimeter (pS/cm). The printing system includes an ink having an electrical conductivity less than or equal to about 300 pS/cm, an inkjet print head, a transfer medium, a developer, a remover and an image transferer. In the method of printing, the ink is nonelectrostatically jetted to the transfer medium, and developed into a fixed image. A portion of a supernatant is removed from the fixed image, and the fixed image is transferred to a media substrate.

摘要: An inkjet printhead, printing system and a method of inkjet printing employ a boundary layer control apparatus to control a boundary layer of air flow surrounding a nozzle opening of an inkjet pen. The printhead includes the pen supported by a housing that is configured so that the nozzle opening both faces a substrate and is spaced from the substrate by a gap. The apparatus is a structure adjacent to the nozzle opening and supported at a leading edge of the housing ahead of the nozzle opening relative to a direction of movement of the substrate. The structure is configured to extend into the gap. The printing system further includes the substrate. The method includes moving the substrate below the printhead, controlling the boundary layer, and depositing an ink onto the moving substrate.
