Yet, there is no need of increasing the memory capacity of the playback device and sacrificing the usability of the playback device. The playback device stores, to its internal memory, identification information of audio data stored on a recording medium such as an optical disc, and specifying information specifying the storage location of the identification information. The playback device sequentially stores the audio data to a remaining area of the memory. The audio data stored in the memory is supplied for playback.

    摘要: When servo lock cannot be achieved because the number of disk revolutions cannot reach the vicinity of its regular number of disk revolutions, a table value is increased to prolong the disk acceleration time. In case of success in servo lock, the table value is reduced to shorten the disk acceleration time. Accordingly, it is possible to set the disk acceleration time optimized in accordance with a variation of torque in the disk motor. As a result, it is possible to save an unnecessary current which would be otherwise consumed till disk servo lock is achieved, so that it is possible to suppress the power consumption.

The RF signal is detected by a detection circuit (N5) to obtain an off-track sate detection signal. If the off-track state detection signal repeatedly alternates between an off-track state and an on-track state, a duty detection unit (N8) measures the duty of the off-track state detection signal. From the result, a sensitivity determining unit (N9) determines the detection sensitivity of the off-track state detection signal in the detection circuit (N5) and a detection sensitivity adjusting circuit (N6) adjusts the detection sensitivity of the off-track state detection signal in the detection circuit (N5).
