摘要:
A material composition is formed with a carrier component and an additive component. The additive component has one or more ceramic additives. The carrier component and the additive component are present in a ratio by volume in the range from approximately 1:9 to approximately 7:3, preferably in the range from approximately 1:4 to approximately 2:1. More particularly, they are present in a ratio of approximately 1:1. The material composition may be formed as a foil or as a liquid, viscous, paste or gel material. The material composition may be used, inter alia, as oxidation protection and as a sealing element.

A mixture for heat storage devices has a phase change material and particulate expanded graphite. The material mixtures are produced by mixing phase change material and expanded graphite as powders or in molten form, and shaping the mixtures into shaped bodies.

An anode assembly for aluminum electrolysis cells includes carbon anodes with stubholes and an anode hanger having stubs, in which the anodes are fixed to the anode hanger by cast iron and the stubholes are fully or partially lined with an expanded graphite lining. The anode assembly provides a reduced voltage drop across an interface between the cast iron and the carbon anode and thus increases cell productivity significantly. Mechanical stresses in the stubhole area are reduced. A collar formed from the lining prevents spilling of cast iron over the anode surface and a protective shot plug or a protective collar optionally prevent direct contact of a hot electrolyte bath with the stub and the cast iron. A method of manufacturing anode assemblies and an aluminum electrolysis cell, are also provided.

A flat semi-finished product includes a filled fluoroplastics substrate in the form of a sheet, which is coated at least partially on at least one surface with a soft, thin coating of fluoroplastics. The substrate material of the sheet has a Shore-D hardness of at least 65 and the average layer thickness of the thin sheet coating is at most 20 &mgr;m. A component, in particular a flat gasket, is made from the semi-finished product. A process for the production thereof is also provided.

A packing yarn and a method of manufacturing a packing yarn composed of at least two bands which are at most 5 mm wide and are joined together by a yarn manufacturing method, include forming the bands of a laminate having at least one layer of flexible graphite and at least one layer of a metal foil with a tensile strength of at least 250 MPa. The layers of graphite foil and metal foil are joined by adhesion or through the use of a non-adhesive-like coupling agent. The bands are produced from the laminates by cutting, which is preferably effected continuously. Advantages thereof are that strips or bands of flexible graphite, which have a tensile strength that is totally inadequate for the manufacture of packing yarns, are altered in terms of their mechanical properties. That is performed solely through reinforcement with a metal foil and without using further reinforcing agents such as, for example, yarns, fibers or wires, in such a way that they may be processed by known methods into packing yarns in an efficient manner.

A graphite-containing molded body is obtained by a method in which graphite particles are mixed with at least one solid additive to form a mixture which contains at least one inorganic additive, a mixture consisting of an inorganic additive and an organic additive, or more than 10 wt. % of an organic additive and the thus obtained mixture is subsequently compressed. The at least one additive which is used contains particles having an average diameter of between 1 and 500 μm, determined in accordance with the ISO 13320 standard.

A composite contains a binder, at least one layer of a soft carbon fiber felt, and at least one layer of a hard carbon fiber felt. The at least one layer of soft carbon fiber felt is joined via the binder to the at least one layer of hard carbon fiber felt.

A flat gasket for flange connections has a leakage rate below the limit value of 1*10−5 kPa*1/(s*m). The gasket assembly has a thick, areal, pressure-resistant core formed from at least one layer of graphite foil with a base weight of at most 1500 g/m2, or a multilayer sandwich of such graphite foils and metal interlayers. The core is embedded between two metal foils, and the surfaces that are remote from the core are covered by covering layers of graphite foil with a base weight of at most 350 g/m2. A ratio of the base weight of the graphite foil of the covering layers to the base weight of the graphite foil of the core lies between 1:3 and 1:7.

A flat gasket includes a gasket body and at least one eyelet enclosing the gasket body. The gasket body is formed of a pressure-resistant core which is resistant to temperatures of at least 150° C. and a covering that completely covers flat outer sides of the core and is made of a gas-tight foil of an organic polymer having a long-term temperature resistance of at least 150° C. The eyelet or eyelets enclose the gasket body with a gas-tight joining. The core is formed of a plastic or elastomer reinforced with fibers and/or fillers, or it is formed of mica or graphite. If mica or graphite are used, the core is preferably formed of layers disposed alternately on top of one another and formed of graphite foils and metal foils or layers of mica and metal foils.

A method produces a molded part from carbon containing carbon fibers in an amount of less than 20% by weight. The method includes comminuting waste parts or scrap parts formed from a carbon fiber-reinforced synthetic material, a carbon fiber reinforced carbon or a carbon fiber reinforced concrete. A mixture is produced from the comminuted product, a binder such as pitch, a carbon material such as coke and optionally one or more additives, wherein the mixture contains less than 20% by weight of fibers. The mixture is molded into a molded part and the molded part is carbonized. Optionally, the molded carbonized part is impregnated with an impregnating agent. Finally and optionally, the molded carbonized part or the molded part impregnated part is graphitized.
