    摘要： An image forming apparatus has an image forming unit and a feeding unit for feeding a recording material at a predetermined speed to the image forming unit. A reflective type sensor reads irradiated light reflected off of the recording material and an image reading unit reads the light so as to obtain a surface image of the recording material so that a feed control unit can control the feeding of the recording medium so that a moving distance is shorter and in the case of feeding it at a predetermined speed while the recording material is read by the image reading unit. In the image forming apparatus a reflective type determination unit determines a predetermined attribute of the recording material using the surface image of the recording material read by the image reading unit so that the image forming apparatus can determine a kind of recording material based on the attribute obtain so as to form the image on the recording material.

The display unit includes a liquid crystal module, a rear panel covering the back surface of the liquid crystal module, a front periphery covering member covering a peripheral part of the front surface of the liquid crystal module, and a wiring board for driving the liquid crystal module. The liquid crystal module includes a liquid crystal cell, a light guide panel disposed behind the back surface of the liquid crystal cell, a reflecting panel disposed behind the back surface of the light guide panel, plural LEDs disposed opposite to one end surface of the light guide panel, and a holding frame provided with a spacing part, covering a peripheral part of the back surface of the reflecting panel and holding the liquid crystal cell, the light guide panel, the reflecting panel and the LEDs. The wiring board and the liquid crystal module are contained substantially in a plane in a space between the rear panel and the front periphery covering member.

    摘要： Provided is an optical information recording/reproduction apparatus in which a tilt margin in a radial direction of an optical disk is increased to thereby reduce a danger that the optical disk and a solid immersion lens come into contact with each other as compared with a conventional case. The optical information recording/reproduction apparatus of the present invention includes: an objective lens for condensing a light beam from a light source; and a solid immersion lens (SIL) that is disposed between the objective lens and an optical recording medium, in which a shape of a bottom surface of the SIL on a recording medium side of the SIL is formed such that a length of the bottom surface in a radial direction orthogonal to a track direction of the recording medium is shorter than a length of the bottom surface in the track direction.

    摘要： In a projection apparatus, a light beam emitted by a light source is guided to a modulation element for forming an image. The light beam emerged from the modulation element is projected onto a screen by a projection lens. An image of the light source is formed as a first light source image by a first optical system. The light beam from the modulation element illuminated with light emanating from the first light source image is imaged by a second optical system as a second light source image at a potion in the vicinity of an aperture of a stop of the projection lens. A peripheral portion of the first light source image is intercepted by another stop located at a potion conjugate with the stop of the projection lens.
