摘要: The present application is directed to a hand held wet body shaver. The body shaver includes a razor assembly with one or more cutting edges. The razor assembly is adjustable amongst a plurality of fixed settings, each setting dictating the usable length of the one or more cutting edges. The razor assembly is operationally configured maintain a desired alignment amongst its component parts at each fixed setting. The razor assembly is effective for shaving and trimming hair to various desired lengths.

摘要: A system and method for enabling opening of an electronic locking device (12) from a remote location is disclosed. A remotely accessible server (14) receives an opening request to open an electronic locking device (12) which secures a closing member (18). The opening request includes a unique identifier of the electronic locking device (12) and personal identification information of a mobile communications device (28) requesting to open the electronic locking device (12). The server (14) then determines, based on predefined parameters, whether the mobile communications device (28) is permitted to open the electronic locking device (12). If the server (14) determines that the mobile communications device (28) is permitted to open the electronic locking device (12), then it transmits an opening instruction to the electronic locking device (12) to unlock the closing member (18). In an embodiment, the predefined parameters include a proximity range of the mobile communications device (28) to the electronic locking device (12).

摘要: Disclosed is a scalable method for automatically deriving the topics discussed most prevalently in unstructured, multilingual text, and simultaneously revealing which topics are more biased towards one or another ‘information space’. The concept of the ‘information space’ is derived from Russian strategic doctrine on information warfare; an example of an ‘information space’ would be the portion of social media in which the Russian language is used. The disclosed method leverages this concept, in conjunction with unsupervised multilingual machine learning, to determine, automatically and without any built-in bias or preconceived notions of what is important, which topics are more discussed, for example, in one language than another. An analyst's attention can then be focused on the most important differences between national discourses, and insight more quickly gained into the areas (both topics and geographic regions) in which propaganda of the sort envisaged in Russian strategic doctrine may be taking hold.

摘要: A self-powered variable transmittance optical device, such as a smart window or other device, and associated method are provided. The device comprises one or more transparent substrates, with a switching material disposed thereon or therebetween. The switching material may be a hybrid photochromic/electrochromic material capable of transitioning from a first transmittance state to a second transmittance state with application of electricity, and from second state to first state due to another stimulus, such as UV radiation. Electrodes are coupled to the switching material for applying electricity. An electrical system provides for controllable application of the electricity, and may store energy. Energy is provided by an energy-harvesting power source such as a solar cell or other photovoltaic source, or array thereof, or another device for harvesting vibrational or thermal energy. Energy harvesting, energy storage capacity and/or switching material may be configured to provide at least a predetermined level of device operability.

摘要: Disclosed is a generalized method for automated account reconciliation capable of matching transactions in one accounting dataset to transactions in another accounting dataset with little initial data preparation. The method is highly flexible in that it does not require source data in a particular format, can accept both structured and unstructured (e.g. Descriptive text) data as input, is not domain- or language-dependent, and requires little to no training or user-provided heuristics. The method is also adjustable depending on a user's tolerance of error. Based on probability and information theory, computational linguistics, and statistics, the method can complete accounting reconciliation problems in significantly less time than is possible manually, and with just as high accuracy. Especially for large reconciliation problems, the method can save an overwhelming portion of the cost associated with this kind of task in the past.

摘要: The invention relates to a device (100) for treating a patient with vibration and/or tactile and/or thermal stimuli (20), said device (100) containing a first and second stimulating unit (11, 12) for generating first and second stimuli respectively. The stimuli are vibration and/or tactile and/or thermal stimuli, and each of the stimuli is repeated on average at a frequency of 1 to 60 Hz. The stimuli are generated at at least partly different times.
