    Abstract: A portable golf ball retriever utilizing a knock down handle and a yoke formed from horizontal and depending side support members, the side members supporting an axle extending therethrough. A plurality of discs are rotatably affixed to the axle and fingers extend between the discs and the adjacent side support members to dislodge balls collected between the discs as the retriever is exposed thereto. A ball collecting device is releasably secured to the handle and yoke of a size to accommodate the handle, yoke, axle and plurality of discs and function as a carrying bag therefor. Handles are affixed to the collecting device to make it convenient to carry the container from place to place.

    Abstract: Rocket-assisted artillery rounds and methods for firing the same are described herein. In one example, a rocket-assisted artillery round includes a projectile body, rocket fuel disposed in the projectile body, an ignitor positioned to ignite the rocket fuel, and an ignition control system. The ignition control system includes a controller coupled to first and second sensors. The first sensor is configured to detect a first metric. The first metric is indicative of rotation of the projectile body. The second sensor is configured to detect a second metric. The second metric is indicative of setback of the projectile body. The controller is configured to output an activation signal to the ignitor based on the first metric and the second metric.

    Abstract: An integral high pressure rapid quenching vacuum furnace utilizing an electrical isolation transformer in the blower motor power control system in order to isolate the motor windings, reduce the possibility of gas ionization and eliminate ground faults, particularly when quenching in argon gas, is described. In order to achieve the desired mechanical properties of certain metal alloys being quenched using argon gas as a quenching medium in the high pressure gas vacuum furnace chamber, a 600 HP-460 Volt motor is required. A 460 Volt primary-460 Volt secondary [delta-delta] isolation transformer, having input and output windings separated by an electrostatic shield connected to ground is placed between the power source and the gas blower motor in the quenching chamber filled with argon gas. The 460 Volt power source is connected to a variable frequency drive (VFD) and the VFD is connected to the primary transformer winding. The secondary transformer winding connects 460 Volts to the blower motor windings. The full electrical isolation of the transformer secondary winding results in zero ground fault voltage.

    Abstract: Described herein is a lockable housing having a base portion and a mated sliding portion. In particular embodiments, the base portion supports a shaft with a free end that is received into the sliding portion when the housing is closed. The housing may include one or more spacers sized for releasable placement around the shaft, thereby reducing the open area near the shaft and increasing security. The housing features a shackle window for receiving a locking element such as a padlock. The housing also features one or more supplemental openings for receiving a secondary element such as a cable that can be used to secure other items or equipment when the housing is closed and locked.

    Abstract: In linking mobile devices to facilitate a mobile commerce transaction, a primary mobile device creates an invitation to link to a mobile commerce account of the primary mobile device with a mobile commerce payment system and sends the invitation to a secondary mobile device. The secondary mobile device receives the invitation from the primary mobile device and sends an agreement to link to the mobile commerce account to the primary mobile device. The primary mobile device receives the agreement from the secondary mobile device and sends credentials for linking to the mobile commerce account to the secondary mobile device. The secondary mobile device receives the credentials from the primary mobile device and acquires information for enabling the link to the mobile commerce account using the credentials. The secondary mobile device links to the mobile commerce account using the information.
